Howrah Bridge (film)
''Howrah Bridge'' is a 1958 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Shakti Samanta. The music for the film was composed by O. P. Nayyar. The plot focuses on Prem Kumar (played by Ashok Kumar), a businessman from Rangoon, who travels to Calcutta to try and track down his brother's murderers. Madhubala stars as Edna, a cabaret dancer, in one of her most popular roles. ''Howrah Bridge'' was a major critical and commercial success upon its release and has become a cult film over years. It has been specially noted for its soundtrack, which consists the chartbusters "Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu" and "Aaiye Meherbaan". The former was re-used in the 1988 film ''Salaam Bombay!''. Plot Prem Kumar (Ashok Kumar) and his elder brother Madan (Chaman Puri) are looking after a successful business of their father in Rangoon. Shakti Samanta (13 January 1926 – 9 April 2009) was an Indian film director and producer, who founded Shakti Films in 1957, which is most known for films such as ''Anand Ashram'' (1977), Anusandhan /'' Barsaat Ki Ek Raat'' (1981), ''anay abhichar'' ( 1982) '', ''Howrah Bridge'' (1958), ''Insan Jaag Utha'' (1959), ''China Town'' (1962), ''Kashmir Ki Kali'' (1964), ''An Evening in Paris'' (1967), '' Aradhana'' (1969), ''Kati Patang'' (1971), and ''Amar Prem'' (1972), '' Amanush''. . He received Filmfare Awards for Best Film for '' Aradhana'' (1969), '' Anuraag'' (1973) and '' Amanush'', which was also made in Bengali, a language in which he made six films, including an Indo-Bangladesh joint production in 1984. Mohan Deep
Mohan Deep (born Mohan Kishinchand Chandirramani in 1948), is an Indian writer. He has written multiple books on Bollywood film personalities, including the books: ''The Mystery and Mystique of Madhubala'', ''Simply Scandalous: Meena Kumari'', and '' Eurekha!: The Intimate Life Story of Rekha'' (an unauthorised biography of Rekha). In recent years, he has focused on writing fiction. Two of his novels are ''The Five Foolish Virgins'' (2013) and ''Color Me Rich'' (2016). Early and personal life Deep was born as Mohan Kishinchand Chandirramani and his family belonged to a Sindhi ( Hyderabadi Aamil) family that migrated from Karachi (Sind Province (1936–55), Sind) (now in Pakistan) in the wake of the partition of India, partition. He spent his early life in Bombay's western suburbs, Kandivli. He started as a short story writer and novelist in Sindhi when he was doing his schooling.
