Howard Transit
Howard Transit was the primary public transit system in Howard County, Maryland, which grew from the former ''ColumBus'' bus system in Columbia, Maryland. First Transit replaced Veolia Transport as the operating company in July 2007. Howard Transit was replaced by the Regional Transportation Agency of Central Maryland in 2014. Howard County is located in the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2010 census, the population was 287,085. As of the 2020 census its population rose to 328,200. Its county seat is Ellicott City. Howard County is included in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also part of the larger Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA Combined Statistical Area. MARC (Maryland Area Rail Commuter) is a commuter rail system in the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area. MARC is administered by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and operated under contract by Alstom and Amtrak on track owned by CSX Transportation (CSXT) and Amtrak. Connect-a-Ride
Central Maryland Regional Transit was a bus system serving the greater Laurel, Maryland area and parts of the neighboring Anne Arundel, Prince George's, and Howard counties. Former service into Montgomery County ended in January 2010 due to a lack of funding, though a re-expansion to the county was sought. CMRT was founded as the Corridor Transportation Corporation in May 1987 by the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber, and began its transit operation as Connect-a-Ride two years later with nine buses serving five routes. The non-profit organization gained independence and changed its name in the early 2010 timeframe, and the bus service rebranded to the same name in early 2013. Maryland Route 103 (MD 103) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. The state highway runs from St. Johns Lane in Ellicott City east to Parkway Drive South in Hanover. MD 103 serves as the local complement to MD 100 from Ellicott City in northeastern Howard County through Dorsey to Hanover in northwestern Anne Arundel County. Arundel Mills is a shopping mall located in unincorporated Anne Arundel County, Maryland (with a Hanover mailing address). It is 59.3% owned by Simon Property Group, who manages the mall. BWI Rail Station
BWI Airport Station is an intermodal passenger station in Linthicum, Maryland near Baltimore–Washington International Airport (BWI). It is served by Amtrak Northeast Corridor intercity trains, MARC Penn Line regional rail trains, and several local bus lines. Located just over a mile from the airport's terminal, the station was the first intercity rail station in the United States built to service an airport.
