The Houston Push are a professional basketball team in Houston, Texas, and members of The Basketball League (TBL). History On December 31, 2020, it was announced that Retired NBA All Star, Steve Francis, was awarded the ownership of a new franchise called the Houston Push for the upcoming 2021 TBL season. The Basketball League (TBL), formerly North America Premier Basketball (NAPB), is a minor league basketball organization. The league began operating in North America in 2018 with eight teams, and expanded to over 44 teams as of 2022. The Basketball League is a professional basketball league providing player salaries from $500 to $6,500 per month, while teams operate on a budget of $125,000 to $250,000 per season. Steven D'Shawn Francis (born February 21, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player. He was selected with the second overall pick of the 1999 NBA draft and was named co-NBA Rookie of the Year (along with Elton Brand) in his first season. He was a three-time NBA All-Star while playing for the Houston Rockets. Francis also played for the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks, finishing his career with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association. Moochie Norris
Martyn Bernard "Moochie" Norris (born July 27, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player who played several seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as well as other leagues. He is the head coach of the Houston Push of The Basketball League (TBL). Professional career Norris, a journeyman, played collegiately at Odessa College ( junior college) (1992–1994), at Auburn University (1994–1995) and at the University of West Florida (1995–1996). He was drafted with 33rd overall pick (4th in second round) of the 1996 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He did not play for the Bucks and on November 22, 1996, was waived by them. On December 12, he signed as a free agent with the Vancouver Grizzlies for whom he played until December, 30, when he was waived. James William White IV (born October 21, 1982) is an American professional basketball player and coach. White is well known for his athleticism and ability to dunk. Since high school, his most famous dunk has been the between-the-legs dunk, with many variations. He is also known for his ability to jump from the free throw line and dunk a basketball with both hands.
