Houseful (2009 Bengali Film)
''Houseful'' is a 2009 Bengali language film directed by Bappaditya Bandopadhyay. In this film, the star Prosenjit Chatterjee's character is a movie director who creates artistic films that flop and are not selected for awards. After several tries and exhausting his own funds, he is forced to do commercial Bengali films. In this film Sreelekha Mitra has a guest appearance. Synopsis Nikhil (Prosenjit Chatterjee) is in distress over his failures. His personal circumstances are in shambles and he has defaulted on most of his obligations. His assistant asks him to make a commercial film on the lines of a Tamil film to revive his career. He refuses and decides to make his own film by producing it himself. Bappaditya Bandopadhyay or Bappaditya Banerjee ( bn, বাপ্পাদিত্য ব্যানার্জী; 28 August 1970 – 7 November 2015) was an Indian film director and poet. Career Bandopadhyay was the recipient of the Most Promising Director award for the year 2003, by the BFJA (Bengal Film Journalists' Association). His second feature film ''Silpantar'' (Colours of Hunger) was premiered at the Sofia International Film Festival, Bulgaria. The film was selected in the competitive section of the International Film Festival Bratislava in 2003. It was the only Indian film other than ''Devdas'' selected at the 2003 Helsinki International Film Festival. Debashree Roy won the Kalakar Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film. Prosenjit Chatterjee
Prosenjit Chatterjee (born 30 September 1962) is an Indian actor and producer. He is widely regarded as one of the leading actors in modern Bengali cinema. He predominantly works in Bengali cinema . He is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Biswajit Chatterjee. He began his acting career as a child actor in Hrishikesh Mukherjee's ''Chotto Jigyasa'', for which he won the Bengal Film Journalists' Association – Most Outstanding Work of the Year Award. Following this he appeared in other films as a child actor. His first leading role came through Bimal Roy's ''Duti Pata''. The National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer is an honour presented annually at the National Film Awards of India since 1968 to a female playback singer for the best renditions of songs from soundtracks within the Indian film industry.
