Houli Railway Station
Houli () is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration Taichung line located in Houli District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The train station was opened on 15 May 1905. On 4 January 2018, a truck-mounted crane collapsed on overhead power line at the station causing blackout and disrupting electricity supply and train services. Houli District
Houli District () is a rural district in northwestern Taichung City, Taiwan. History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Houli was organized as a rural township of Taichung County named Neipu Township. On 1 October 1955, Neipu Township was renamed as Houli Township. On 25 December 2010, Taichung County was merged with Taichung City and Houli was upgraded to a district of the city. Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is a railway operator in Taiwan. Taichung Line
The Taichung line (), also known as the Mountain line (), is a line of the Taiwan Railway Administration, which one of two parallel lines in Central Taiwan section offsetting to inland mountain area. It has a total length of 85.5 km, all of which is double track, passing Downtown Taichung. History The Taichung Line was completed in 1908. After the Coast Line between Zhunan and Changhua was finished in 1922, the original line was called Taichung Line. In 1998, the construction to expand to two tracks ( double tracks) was completed. Long tunnels were built to reduce the grade of the line. Sanyi Tunnel is one of the longest railway tunnels in Taiwan. Chang Lien-cheng Saxophone Museum
The Chang Lien-cheng Saxophone Museum () is a saxophone museum and manufacturing company in Houli District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The museum is named after Chang Lien-cheng, a local resident who made the first saxophone in Taiwan on his own. His effort initiated the development of saxophone industries in Taiwan ever since, which is now one of the largest centers of saxophone production in the world. The Chang Lien-cheng Saxophone Museum was then opened on 27 January 2011 by Chang's grandchildren. Architecture The museum was built as a memorial hall previously dedicated to Chang. It is a two-story building with a concert hall and a tourist-friendly factory that allows visitors to see how the instruments are made.
