Hou Junji
Hou Junji (died April 29, 643) was a Chinese general and official who served as a chancellor during the reign of Emperor Taizong in the Tang dynasty. He is best known for leading the Tang military campaigns against the Gaochang and Tuyuhun kingdoms. In 643, he was implicated in a plot by the crown prince, Li Chengqian, to overthrow Emperor Taizong, and was executed. During Emperor Gaozu's reign Hou Junji's date of birth is unknown. Little is known about his family background other than that he was from Bin Prefecture (豳州, roughly modern Xianyang, Shaanxi). It was said that he was pretentious and always wanted to appear impressive. He favored using the bow and arrow; while he never achieved greatness in archery, he became known for his fighting abilities. Five Great Clans Of The New Territories
The Five Great Clans of the New Territories are five families that settled early and became sizeable in the New Territories of Hong Kong. They are the Tang (Deng; ), the Man (Wen; ), Hau (Hou; ), Pang (Peng; ) and Liu ( Liao; ). The Hau Clan arrived in modern-day Hong Kong towards the end of the 12th century, during the Southern Song Dynasty. They first settled at Ho Sheung Heung. Hou Zhihui (; born 18 March 1997) is a Chinese weightlifter, Olympic champion, World champion, and two-time Asian champion competing in the women's 49 kg category. As of 2021, she has set eleven senior world records throughout her career. Career She competed at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships in the 49 kg division, winning silvers medals in all lifts, and setting two world records in the total. Yi-Jia Susanne Hou
Yi-Jia Susanne Hou (, b. , Shanghai, China) is a Canadian violinist. Born in Shanghai and raised in Mississauga, Hou grew up in a musical family. At the age of nine, she studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She went on to attend The Juilliard School where she studied with Dorothy DeLay, Naoko Tanaka, and Cho-Liang Lin. At Juilliard, she completed BM and MM music degrees and received the Artist Diploma. By age 17, the young violinist performed Paganini's Twenty-four Caprices for Solo Violin in Toronto and Aspen. She has also performed all ten of Beethoven's Piano and Violin Sonatas in New York as well as the complete collection of Brahms's Violin and Piano Sonatas and Piano Trios. John Hou Sæter (born 13 January 1998), also known by his Chinese name Hou Yongyong (), is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Norwegian First Division club Ranheim. New Taipei City is a special municipality located in northern Taiwan. Hou Yu-ih (; born 7 June 1957), also romanized Hou You-yi, is a Taiwanese politician. He has served as Director-General of the National Police Agency from 2006 to 2008 and as acting mayor of New Taipei City from October 2015 to January 2016. Hou Yao
Hou Yao (1903–1942) was a pioneering Chinese film director, screenwriter, and film theorist. He wrote and directed many films including ''The Discarded Wife'' (1924), ''Romance of the Western Chamber'' (1927), the first Chinese film shown in Western countries, and '' Mulan Joins the Army'' (1928). He wrote ''Techniques of Writing Shadowplay Scripts'', the first theory book on Chinese filmmaking. He founded the Culture Film Company, which was merged into a predecessor of the Shaw Brothers Studio. He has been called the Chinese Henrik Ibsen for his advocacy for gender equality, which he shared with his wife Pu Shunqing.
