Hotel Majestic is the historical hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This hotel is located near Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and is part of the Autograph Collection. History Originally opened in 1932, the hotel was commissioned by the Trustees of the Estate of Loke Wan Tho, the youngest son of Loke Yew, and sited on a hillside edging Lake Gardens, opposite the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station. Designed by architectural firm Keys and Dowdeswell, the complex was fashioned in a transitional hybrid of Beaux-Arts and Art Deco styles, with extensive use of arches, pilasters and cornice on the main block, a more vernacular double-storey annexe, and an extended Art Deco porte-cochère that leads down the hill. Neoclassical architecture is an architectural style produced by the Neoclassical movement that began in the mid-18th century in Italy and France. It became one of the most prominent architectural styles in the Western world. Pasar Seni Station
The Pasar Seni station is an integrated rapid transit station in Kuala Lumpur that is served by the Kelana Jaya Line and the Kajang Line. The station is named after the nearby Central Market (known as Pasar Seni or "Art Market" in Malay) and is located near Petaling Street and the area known as the Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur. It is made up of two separate stations - the older elevated Kelana Jaya Line station which opened on 1 September 1998 whilst the newer underground Kajang Line station which was opened on 17 July 2017. The KTM ETS (commercially known as ETS, short for 'Electric Train Service') is an inter-city rail passenger service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) using electric multiple-unit (EMU) trains. The KTM ETS is the second electric train service to be operated by the Malaysian railway company, after the KTM Komuter service, and the second inter-city rail service, after KTM Intercity. KTM Komuter
KTM Komuter is a commuter rail system in Malaysia operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM). It was introduced in 1995 to provide local rail services in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding Klang Valley suburban areas. Services were later expanded to other parts of Malaysia with the introduction of the Northern and Southern sectors. The service uses air-conditioned electric multiple units in 3 and 6 car formations. KTM Komuter contributed RM146.2 million to group revenue in 2017, carrying a total of 37.235 million passengers. The total number of passengers travelling with KTM Komuter in 2017 shows a decrease of 10.2%.
