Undertale Soundtrack
''Undertale Soundtrack'' (stylized as ''UNDERTALE Soundtrack'') is a soundtrack album by Toby Fox, released in 2015 for the video game ''Undertale''. Development The game's soundtrack was entirely composed by Fox with FL Studio. A self-taught musician, he composed most of the tracks with little iteration; the game's main theme, "Undertale", was the only song to undergo multiple iterations in development. The soundtrack was inspired by music from Super NES role-playing games—such as ''EarthBound'' and ''Live A Live''—bullet hell series ''Touhou Project'', the chiptune band Anamanaguchi, as well as the webcomic ''Homestuck'', for which Fox provided some of the music. Fox also stated that he tries to be inspired by all music he listens to, particularly those in video games. According to Fox, over 90% of the songs were composed specifically for the game. "Megalovania" (stylized as "MEGALOVANIA"), the song used during the boss battle against Sans, had previously been used ...

Not An Angel
City Sleeps was an American rock band, formed in 2005. History The band was originally called Smugface and played an aggressive, somewhat progressive style of alternative rock in line with the nu metal sound of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Around 2004 they changed their sound and image, and subsequently their name was switched to City Sleeps. Smugface consisted of core members Adriel Garcia (guitar), John Whitney (drums), and Elliott Sharp (vocals); early demos—produced by Rick Beato from Universal recording act Billionaire—got the band considerable attention in underground rock circles, as well as on the popular music site MP3.com. Members of alternative metal outfit Cold became aware of the group and were impressed, eventually bringing them to the attention of Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, who almost signed Smugface to his Interscope imprint, Flawless Records. Things were slowly changing internally, however, and by 2003, Smugface were noticeably transitioning into a ...

Writing and composition In an interview with Pitchfork Media, Silberman explained the concept of ''Familiars'' stating, "I was trying to understand attachment in this record. We get attached to our memories, to our ideas of who we are, of who other people are. There's a buildup of thoughts about something that keeps you from seeing it as it truly is. I've been trying to clear away as much attachment as possible in the way that I think and act. Part of that is revisiting the past and letting go of things that I've unknowingly held on to for a long time. Most of the time you don't even realize you're holding onto something, it's just a quiet whisper in the back. We're very good at distracting ourselves, which ...
