Hot Cars
''Hot Cars'' is a 1956 American film noir crime film directed by Don McDougall and written by Don Martin and Richard H. Landau. The film stars John Bromfield, Carol Shannon, Joi Lansing, Ralph Clanton, Mark Dana, Charles Keane and George Sawaya. It was released on November 2, 1956, by United Artists. Plot Nick Dunn, a used car salesman, can't close a deal with customers Karen Winter and Arthur Markel, so he is fired. A sympathetic Markel has a car lot of his own and offers a job to Nick, who quits after discovering Markel's disreputable sales methods. Nick and wife Jane have a financial dilemma when their son falls ill. Swallowing his pride, Nick asks for his job back with Markel, who promotes him to manager. But the criminal activity continues, until Nick becomes convinced that Markel has even ordered his henchman, Smiley Ward, to murder Davenport, a detective. Don McDougall (director)
Don McDougall (born September 28, 1917 – February 7, 1991) was an American television director and screenwriter. McDougall directed numerous episodes of television shows including '' Wanted: Dead or Alive'', '' Rawhide'', '' Bonanza'', '' Mannix'', '' Ironside'', ''Star Trek: The Original Series'', ''The Six Million Dollar Man'', and ''CHiPs''. He also directed for shows such as ''The Rifleman'', '' Mission: Impossible''. ''Dallas'', ''Kolchak: The Night Stalker'', ''The Dukes of Hazzard'', and ''Wonder Woman''. In 1974, he directed three episodes of ''Planet of the Apes'' that featured Mark Lenard and were photographed by Jerry Finnerman. Robert Osterloh
Robert Osterloh (May 31, 1918 – April 16, 2001) was an American actor. His career spanned 20 years, appearing in films such as ''The Dark Past'' (1948), ''The Wild One'' (1953), '' I Bury the Living'' (1958) and ''Young Dillinger'' (1965). Biography Osterloh was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, He was the son of Dr. Charles T. Osterloh and Emma Geiselhart Osterloh. As a student at Perry High School, he was president of the student council and the Dramatic Club, and he had the lead in the school's senior play. An agent discovered Osterloh while he was acting in stock theater. Director Rudolph Maté gave Osterloh his first opportunity in film in 1948, introducing him in ''The Dark Past'', in which he had a supporting role. Film noir (; ) is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and motivations.
