Hospoda
''Hospoda'' (in English ''Pub'') is a Czech comedy television comedy that premiered on TV Nova. From 1996 to 1997, 52 episodes were aired. Production The series was filmed in Barrandov Studios in Prague. Over the course of the series, 53 episodes were aired, including a special episode containing the best of the series, which is currently missing from archives. ''Hospoda'' was the second TV Nova sitcom, after ''Nováci''. Many of the best Czech actors and actress appear in this series. Plot The series follows the stories of ordinary people (the publican, entrepreneur, boilerman, psychiatrist, lawyer, chef ...), who meet in a pub for a beer. Bronislav Poloczek
Bronislav Poloczek ( pl, Bronisław Poloczek) (7 August 1939 – 16 March 2012) was a Polish-Czech theatre and television actor. Poloczek was born in Horní Suchá (Sucha Górna). He was best known for his appearances with the Prague National Theatre. He also appeared in various Czech television series, including ''Ulice'' and '' Hospoda''; and many films, including '' Černí baroni''. In 2012, he died in Prague, aged 72. Personal life Poloczek was a member of the Polish minority in the Czech Republic, always emphasizing his belonging to the Polish nation. In 1956 Poloczek graduated from the Juliusz Słowacki Polish Grammar School. He was married to Zdenka. The couple had a son Bronislav. His wife died in 1995. Petr Nárožný
Petr Nárožný (born 14 April 1938)) is a Czech actor, television presenter, comedian, and entertainer. Life and career As a boy, Nárožný spent part of World War II in Germany, where he experienced Allied bombings. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1968. The year of his graduation, he began working as a moderator and entertainer at concerts for the band Rangers. From 1973, he was engaged as an actor at Semafor Theatre in Prague, forming a trio with Luděk Sobota and Miloslav Šimek. In 1980, he became a member of The Drama Club. Jiří Menzel () (23 February 1938 – 5 September 2020) was a Czech film director, theatre director, actor, and screenwriter. His films often combine a humanistic view of the world with sarcasm and provocative cinematography. Some of these films are adapted from works by Czech writers such as Bohumil Hrabal and Vladislav Vančura. Early life Menzel was born in Prague in 1938 to Josef Menzel and Božena Jindřichová. His father Josef was a journalist, translator and children's book writer. Menzel studied directing at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) in Prague.
