Horse Park Drive
Horse Park Drive is an arterial road in the Gungahlin district of Canberra, Australia. It is named for the homestead Horse Park, built in 1853 which is located in the suburb of Jacka. The road provides a bypass of the Gungahlin town centre, linking the western suburbs of the district to the Federal Highway to Goulburn and the Majura Parkway, linking to the Monaro Highway and Canberra Airport. Originally built as a single carriageway, population growth in Gungahlin led to significant traffic congestion during peak times leading to calls for the road to be duplicated. Duplication of an section of Horse Park Drive began in 2018 and was completed in stages, initially between Well Station Drive and Anthony Rolfe Avenue, then to the Federal Highway. Gungahlin Drive
Gungahlin Drive is an arterial road in Canberra, Australia. Its urban portion is long, and serves as one of the major thoroughfares in the Gungahlin district, before becoming a parkway standard roadway south of the Barton Highway. This high quality section was built as the major part of the Gungahlin Drive Extension project. Route description The route begins at roundabout that forms the end of Clarrie Hermes Drive, and Horse Park Drive. It heads in a roughly south-easterly direction, passing by several suburbs, and becoming dual carriageway to the east of Gundaroo Drive. It then crosses between the Mulanggari and Gungaderra Grasslands and heads in a southerly direction along the western edge of the industrial area. Ngunnawal, Australian Capital Territory
Ngunnawal () is a suburb in the district of Gungahlin in Canberra, Australia. The suburb is named in tribute to the Ngunnawal people, the original inhabitants of the area. The suburb was gazetted on 24 April 1992. Ngunnawal is adjacent to the suburbs of Nicholls, Casey, Moncrieff, Amaroo and Gungahlin. Majura Parkway
Majura Parkway is a north–south parkway located in the Majura district of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It links the interchange with Federal Highway and Horse Park Drive at the edge of Gungahlin district to Monaro Highway in Fyshwick. The parkway had been in planning since the 1970s and is considered an important access road to and from the Gungahlin district. The parkway provides a more efficient transport link in the area and conveys a large numbers of freight vehicles. The Majura District is a district of Canberra, with a population of 161 at the , excluding the suburb of Pialligo, which lies to the south of Canberra Airport. Apart from Pialligo, Majura District includes Canberra Airport and some farming but little residential development. The District of Gungahlin () is one of the original eighteen districts of the Australian Capital Territory used in land administration. The Gungahlin Region is one of fastest growing regions within Australia. The district is subdivided into divisions ( suburbs), sections and blocks. ''Gungahlin'' is an Aboriginal word meaning either "white man's house" or "little rocky hill". Jacka is a suburb of Gungahlin, Canberra, the National Capital of Australia. The suburb was gazetted on 25 April 2001 and development began in 2013. It had some residents at the beginning of 2014. Monaro Highway is a highway in Victoria, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory, in Australia, linking in Victoria to Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) via the Monaro region. From its southern terminus, it follows the nearby Cann River upstream towards the New South Wales border through heavily forested terrain.
