Horner Ballpark
Horner Ballpark is a baseball field in Dallas, Texas. It is the home park of the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team of the NCAA Division I Conference USA. It opened on February 15, 2013, and has been highly acclaimed by national media, including D1Baseball.com. The stadium is named for Joan and Andy Horner, who made the lead donation for the park. The Patriots hosted the Dallas Regional in 2015 at Horner Ballpark. The ballpark succeeded Patriot Field as the home of Dallas Baptist baseball team. Horner Ballpark received a new scoreboard manufactured by Daktronics prior to the start of the 2018 season. Horner Ballpark hosted the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament, with Missouri State defeating the Patriots 7–6 in the championship game. Missouri State Bears Baseball
The Missouri State Bears baseball team represents Missouri State University, which is located in Springfield, Missouri. The Bears are an NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in the Missouri Valley Conference. They began competing in Division I in 1983 and joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 1991 after seven seasons with the Mid-Continent Conference. 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament
The 2018 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament was held from May 23 through 26. All eight baseball-sponsoring schools in the conference participated in the double-elimination tournament that was held at Dallas Baptist's Horner Ballpark in Dallas, Texas. The winner of the tournament earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Seeding and format The league's eight teams were seeded based on conference winning percentage. Patriot Field is a baseball field located in Dallas, Texas, United States, and was home to the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team from 1983 to 2012. The venue was finished in the summer of 1983 and has had many improvements done through the years since its inception. The field has also made a cameo appearance in Chuck Norris' ''The President's Man'', a made-for-TV movie, for CBS in 2001. The Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team represents Dallas Baptist University, which is located in Dallas, Texas. The Patriots are an NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in Conference USA. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding.
