Hoplistopus Butti
''Hoplistopus butti'' is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It is known from South Africa and Namibia. It is very similar to '' Hoplistopus penricei'', but the body and wings are whitish grey and much paler. The forewing upperside has a black line in the discal cell, and one or more black lines on the disc between the veins. There is an oblique, black, apical stripe and two parallel, weakly marked S-shaped discal lines, followed distally with a linear patch representing a third line near the hind margin. Hoplistopus Penricei
''Hoplistopus penricei'' is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It is known from the Kalahari, south-western Africa and Angola. The length of the forewings is about 24 mm. The body and wing upper- and underside are smoky grey and very uniform in colour. The forewing upperside has a series of very thin, black discal streaks between the veins, ending with an oblique apical line. There are similar but shorter streaks on the veins at their tips. Both wing undersides are without markings. The hindwing upperside is unicolorous, the fringe is white with small smoky grey dots. Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild
Lionel Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild, Baron de Rothschild, (8 February 1868 – 27 August 1937) was a British banker, politician, zoologist and soldier, who was a member of the Rothschild family. As a Zionist leader, he was presented with the Balfour Declaration, which pledged British support for a Jewish national home in Palestine. Rothschild was the president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews from 1925 to 1926. Early life Walter Rothschild was born in London as the eldest son and heir of Emma Louise von Rothschild and Nathan Rothschild, 1st Baron Rothschild, an immensely wealthy financier of the international Rothschild financial dynasty and the first Jewish peer in England. Karl Jordan (zoologist, Born 1861)
Heinrich Ernst Karl Jordan (7 December 1861 – 12 January 1959) was a German-British entomologist. He took a special interest in the taxonomy and classification of butterflies, beetles and fleas. Jordan was a founder of the International Congress of Entomology. Jordan was born in a farming family in Almstedt, raised by an uncle after the death of his father in 1855, finished school in Hildesheim and educated at Göttingen University. After a year of military service, he taught at Münden Grammar School for five years and came in contact with zoologist August Metzger and Count Berlepsch that led to a growth in his natural history interest. Through their recommendation he received an invitation to joined Ernst Hartert at Rotschild's museum. In 1893 he began work at Walter Rothschild's Natural History Museum at Tring, specialising in Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and Siphonaptera.
