Charles Hopewell
Charles Hopewell (September 22, 1861 – May 15, 1931) was mayor of Ottawa from 1909 to 1912.Dave Mullington "Chain of Office: Biographic Sketches of Ottawa's Mayors (1847–1948)" (Renfrew, Ontario: General Store Publishing House, 2005) He was born in March Township in 1861. During his term in office, he negotiated grants in lieu of taxes with the federal government. He also served as magistrate after his term as mayor. Chris Hopewell is an English music video and film director and print maker. He has directed videos for Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Scissor Sisters, Run the Jewels, Louis XIV, The Knife, The Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, and several others. His video for Radiohead's "There There" received an award for art direction at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. He also co-directed with Crispian Mills on the film '' A Fantastic Fear of Everything''. Hopewell co-founded the company Collision Films, which operated from 2002 to 2012. Jacob Hopewell
Jacob Hopewell (1831–1875) was an American inventor and noted eccentric. He is best known for his ingenious mechanical innovations and specifically for his claim that he had invented a machine that could be used to communicate with the dead via the transference of image. As this machine no longer exists, and no patent ever filed, its existence is still debated amongst folklorists, spiritualists, and scholars. Early life Hopewell was born in 1831, and beyond that date most information regarding his early life is speculative at best. Some scholars, notably Arthur McCallister, describe him as a lonely child without siblings; others believe him to have been the eldest of as many as seven brothers and sisters. Pollard Hopewell (between 1786 and 1789 - June 1, 1813) was a midshipman in the United States Navy during the War of 1812. He was killed in the battle of the US frigate ''Chesapeake'' with the British frigate ''Shannon''. He was the only child of Pollard Hopewell and his wife, Catherine Hebb, who were married on December 19, 1785. Pollard, Jr. was born sometime between 1786 and 1789. He was orphaned at an early age. Raymont Hopewell
Raymont Hopewell (born June 11, 1971) is an American serial killer and serial rapist who assaulted ten elderly people in Baltimore, Maryland, between 1999 and 2005, killing five of them. In a deal with prosecutors, Hopewell pleaded guilty to five counts of murder in order to avoid a death sentence and received four life sentences. Early life Raymont Hopewell was born in Baltimore on June 11, 1971. Raised in an area near Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park, Hopewell was recounted as a regular kid; he would ride bikes, play hide and seek, and had a big friend group. Little else is known about his upbringing, but in his sophomore year of high school he dropped out. He soon fell into the use of heroin to which he would get addicted.
