Gene Nelson (born Leander Eugene Berg; March 24, 1920 – September 16, 1996) was an American actor, dancer, screenwriter, and director. Biography Born Leander Eugene Berg in Astoria, Oregon, he and his family moved to Seattle when he was one year old. He was inspired to become a dancer during his childhood by watching Fred Astaire in films. After serving in the Army during World War II, during which he also performed in the musical ''This Is the Army'', Nelson landed his first Broadway role in ''Lend an Ear''. His performance earned a Theatre World Award. He also appeared onstage in '' Good News''. Nelson's longtime professional dance partner during the 1950s was actress JoAnn Dean Killingsworth. George Hege Hamilton IV (July 19, 1937 – September 17, 2014) was an American country musician. He began performing in the late 1950s as a teen idol, switching to country music in the early 1960s. Biography Hamilton was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, on July 19, 1937, the son of Moravian parents George Hege Hamilton III and Mary Lilian (née Pendry). He was introduced to country music by his paternal grandfather, a railroad worker. His great-grandfather, the first George Hege Hamilton, was a farmer, of a family that came from Scotland to America in 1685. George Hamilton IV attended Richard J. Cathie Taylor (born July 26, 1944) is a Canadian-born actress and singer of country music and later gospel who had some success in the 1960s. Biography Cathie Taylor was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and while a child moved with her family to Morgan Hill, California. At age 12, a talent contest appearance led to her singing Western folk songs on San Francisco's KQED (TV), KQED-TV. After some time raising blue-ribbon cows, she landed her own radio show on KBAY, KPER in Gilroy, California. Word of her talent spread to Country & Western impresario Cliffie Stone, who invited her to Los Angeles, and guided her early career.
