The Hong Kong Songs is a record chart that ranks the best-performing songs in Hong Kong since February 2022. Published by Billboard magazine, the data are compiled by MRC Data based collectively on each single's weekly digital streaming and download sales. It was announced on February 14, 2022, as part of ''Billboard''s Hits of the World chart collection, ranking the top 25 songs weekly in more than 40 countries around the globe. Every Tuesday, a new chart is compiled and officially released to the public on its website. Each chart is dated with the "week-ending" date of the Saturday four days later. Hits Of The World
The Hits of the World is a collection of weekly record charts published by ''Billboard'' magazine. It ranks the top 25 songs in more than 40 countries around the globe based on streaming and digital sales. These charts in 40+ countries joined existing chart listings for ''Billboard''-branded licensees in Argentina, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, along with ''Billboard''s longstanding third-party partner charts like Official Charts Company in the United Kingdom. Announced on February 14, 2022, and launched the following day, the tracking period for each chart runs from Friday to Thursday of every week with new charts released every Tuesday. A record chart, in the music industry, also called a music chart, is a ranking of Sound recording and reproduction, recorded music according to certain criteria during a given period. Many different criteria are used in worldwide charts, often in combination. These include record sales, the amount of radio airplay, the number of music download, downloads, and the amount of streaming media, streaming activity. Some charts are specific to a particular musical genre and most to a particular geographical location. The most common period covered by a chart is one week with the chart being printed or broadcast at the end of this time. Summary charts for years and decades are then calculated from their component weekly charts. MRC Data
Luminate (formerly Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen Music Products, and MRC Data) is a provider of music sales data. Established by Mike Fine and Mike Shalett in 1991, data is collected weekly and made available every Sunday (for albums sales) and every Monday (for songs sales) to subscribers, which include record companies, publishing firms, music retailers, independent promoters, film and TV companies, and artist managers. It is the source of sales information for the ''Billboard'' music charts. It is owned by PMRC, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries (publisher of ''Billboard'') and Penske Media Corporation. Michael Cheung Tin-fu (born 1 December 1996), better known by his stage name MC, is a Hong Kong singer and actor. He rose to fame as the runner-up in the 2019 talent competition reality show ''King Maker II''. He subsequently signed a record deal with Warner Music Hong Kong and made his debut with the single "Good Time" in 2021. Dear Jane is a Hong Kong band that consists of Tim Wong (lead vocalist), Jackal Ng (bass), Howie Yung (guitar/vocals) and Nice Lai (drums). History Dear Jane was formed in 2003. Members Adam Diaz and Howie Yung had previously been in an indie band called "Fuse". The band's name refers to the term Dear John letter but from the point of view of a male writing to a female. The name signifies their music highlighting the point of view of a male. Dear Jane was first signed by See Music Ltd. Terence Lam Ka-him (; born 3 September 1991) is a Hong Kong composer, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Lam had a musical interest at a young age, having started to learn playing the piano when he was four or five years old. He attended the Lingnan University, where he received the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Contemporary English Studies in 2013. During his university studies, Lam participated in several college singing competitions, where he met the singer-songwriter Chet Lam who brought him into the music industry.
