Hong Kong Rangers Football Club (), often abbreviated to Rangers, currently known as Biu Chun Rangers due to sponsorship reasons, is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Premier League. They have won the Hong Kong First Division once, the Senior Shield 4 times, and the Hong Kong FA Cup twice. History Formation to 2000 The club was founded in 1958 by a Scottish expatriate from Glasgow named Ian Petrie. He named his club after Rangers. It was the first Asian football club with a modern football club managing system. In the early days, the club could not compete with the bigger clubs financially so Petrie relied on young players and the team was known as a breeding ground for young players. Jimmy Bone
James Bone (born 22 September 1949) is a Scottish former professional footballer, who played as a striker. Following his playing retirement he moved into coaching and has managed a number of Scottish League clubs. Hong Kong Sapling Football Club () are a Hong Kong football club which does not currently compete in the Hong Kong football league system. History On 11 August 2011, Mutual withdrew from the Hong Kong First Division League due to financial problems. The Hong Kong Football Association then decided to form a team for training youngsters for the 2013 East Asian Games, as well as to replace Mutual. The club was named as Hong Kong Sapling, but was dissolved in 2012. In the run up to the 2016–17 season, Metro Gallery were forced to voluntarily relegate to the First Division due to financial difficulties. Hong Kong Sapling were reformed in order to fill the void left by Metro Gallery and were able to secure funding from two sponsors, Biu Chun and GlorySky Group, competing under the name Biu Chun Glory Sky until the end of the season. Lo Kwan Yee
Lo Kwan Yee (, born 9 October 1984) is a Hong Kong professional footballer who currently plays for Hong Kong Premier League club Rangers. Lo has represented Hong Kong at international level at various age groups, making his debut with the senior national team in 2007. Club career Rangers Lo broke into the Rangers first team at only 15 years old. He made his first-team debut as a substitute in Rangers' 1–0 win at home to Kitchee on 14 August 2000, scoring the match winner in the 88th minute. Peter Man Pei Tak () is a former Hong Kong professional football player and current amateur player for Hong Kong First Division club Eastern District. Club career 2008–09 On 16 November 2008, Man Pei Tak played as captain and scored a wonder goal to help South China defeat arch rival Kitchee 3:1 in a league match. It was his first goal since he joined the Caroliners. 2010–11 Under coach Kim Pan-Gon, Man Pei Tak's playing opportunities were limited. Chan Wai Ho
Chan Wai Ho (born ) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer and current amateur player for Hong Kong First Division club Eastern District. Chan was a member of the East Asian Games gold medal-winning Hong Kong U-23 squad in 2009. He was also the captain of the Hong Kong senior team from 2010 to 2017. The Hong Kong national football team () represents Hong Kong in international association football, football and is controlled by the Hong Kong Football Association, the governing body for football in Hong Kong.
