''Hong Kong Nocturne'' (香江花月夜) is a 1967 Hong Kong Shaw Brothers musical film directed by Umetsugu Inoue. Plot The Chia sisters (Cheng Pei-pei, Lily Ho and Chin Ping) perform as the backup troupe with their magician father (Chiang Kuang-Chao). The selfish old man has little regard for his daughters and squanders their hard earned money on a young floozy who plays him for a fool. After winning a go-go dance contest, the girls ditch their father and pursue their dreams. Umetsugu Inoue
was a Japanese people, Japanese film director and screenwriter, scriptwriter. He directed 115 movies, wrote 101 screenplays, and is credited with the original story for five films. In addition, he worked with all six major Japanese film production companies. His film work extended to Hong Kong, and he did the technical guidance for movies there from 1966 to 1970. Ling Yun (actor)
Ling Yun () (born 1941) is a Taiwanese-born actor in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Early life On January 15, 1941, Ling was born in Taiwan as Lin Long-song. Career Ling started his acting career in Taiwan under the alias of Long Song. Lin first appeared in Ah San Ge Chu Ma (aka A Brother-in-law), a 1959 Hokkien language Taiwan film directed by Lin Tuan-Chiu. Ling joined Shaw Brothers in 1964. In 1965, Ling first appeared in Hong Kong film. Ling appeared in Pink Tears, a 1965 Hong Kong Mandarin-language film directed by Chun Kim. In Hong Kong, Ling changed his name to Ling Yun. Ling's last Hong Kong film was Legend of the Bat (aka Clans of Intrigue 2, Bat Island Adventure), a 1978 Hong Kong Cantonese-language film directed by Chor Yuen. Yueh Hua
Yueh Hua (; 14 July 1942 – 20 October 2018) was a Shanghai-born Hong Kong actor, later based in Canada, with Shaw Brothers Studio and TVB. Yueh is one of the most versatile and prolific leading actors of Shaw Brothers. Yueh starred in five to ten films per year in his heyday, playing roles ranging from foolish drunks to scholarly warriors. Yueh died of cancer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, aged 76. Biography Yueh was born as Leung Lok-wah in Shanghai, with Cantonese ancestry. Yueh emigrated to Hong Kong in 1962 after graduating from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Wu Chun-li
Wu Chun-li (; born 1962) is a Taiwanese politician from Taitung county. He was elected Taitung County Magistrate in 2005 but was barred from taking office due to a corruption conviction. Career Taitung Council Wu Chun-li entered politics in 1998 as a KMT representative and became Taitung Council Speaker the following year. He was known for his opposition to the Taitung incinerator and was instrumental in having the budget for the incinerator frozen. In 1999 he was charged with corruption in relation to a budget skimming scheme. Taitung Magistrate elections In 2001 Wu Chun-li ran as the KMT candidate for County Magistrate but lost to Hsu Ching-yuan.
