Hong Kong Men's National Under-18 Ice Hockey Team
The Hong Kong men's national under-18 ice hockey team is the men's national under-18 ice hockey team of Hong Kong. The team is controlled by the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. History The Hong Kong men's national under-18 ice hockey team played its first game in 2012 during the 2012 IIHF U18 Challenge Cup of Asia in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Prior to the start of the tournament Hong Kong were disqualified and all of their games were declared forfeit due to problems with player eligibility. The team was allowed to play exhibition games during the tournament, however the results of the games did not count towards the standings with the scores being officially recorded as 5–0 wins to all the opposing teams. Hong Kong won all four of their exhibition games against the other teams in the tournament. The largest win was against Malaysia which they won 26–0. The Regional Emblem of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China came into use on 1 July 1997, after the transfer of the sovereignty of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to the People's Republic of China. The emblem features the same design elements as the regional flag of Hong Kong in a circular setting. 2022 IIHF World U18 Championships
The 2022 IIHF World U18 Championship was the 23rd such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2023 competition. On 28 February the IIHF "suspended all Russian and Belarusian National Teams and Clubs from participation in every age category and in all IIHF competitions or events until further notice", which resulted in a reformatting of the tournament. Due to the suspensions there are two open spots in the top division, two teams can be promoted for 2023 and no team will be relegated. Additionally, all eight teams will qualify for the QF round and will be reseeded according to their tournament ranking. Sweden won their second world championship by beating USA in the final with score 6–4. Finland won bronze by beating Czechia in the bronze medal game with score 4–1. The 2021 IIHF World U18 Championship was the 22nd such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams would have participated at several levels of competition. The competition also would have served as qualifications for the 2022 competition. All tournaments other than the top division tournament were cancelled by the IIHF on November 18, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2020 competition.
