2016 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III
The 2016 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Group A and 2016 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Group B were a pair of international under-18 men's ice hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Group A and Group B tournaments made up the sixth and seventh level of competition at the 2016 IIHF World U18 Championships. The Group A tournament took place between 14 March and 20 March 2016 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The tournament was won by Australia who gained promotion back to Division II Group B for 2017 while Mexico finished last and was relegated to Division III Group B for 2017. The Group B tournament took place from 14 February to 19 February 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa. New Zealand won the tournament and gained promotion to Division III Group A for 2017. The Hong Kong men's national under-18 ice hockey team is the men's national under-18 ice hockey team of Hong Kong. The team is controlled by the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. History The Hong Kong men's national under-18 ice hockey team played its first game in 2012 during the 2012 IIHF U18 Challenge Cup of Asia in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Prior to the start of the tournament Hong Kong were disqualified and all of their games were declared forfeit due to problems with player eligibility. The team was allowed to play exhibition games during the tournament, however the results of the games did not count towards the standings with the scores being officially recorded as 5–0 wins to all the opposing teams. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Eastern European Time (EET) is one of the names of UTC+02:00 time zone, 2 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. The zone uses daylight saving time, so that it uses UTC+03:00 during the summer.
