Hong Kong Cricket Team In Ireland In 2016
The Hong Kong cricket team toured Ireland in August and September 2016 to play two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) matches at Bready Cricket Club Ground, Magheramason as well as a first-class match at Stormont, Belfast. The first-class match was part of the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup, with Ireland winning by 70 runs. Hong Kong won the T20I series 1–0, after a 40-run victory in the first match and the second match being abandoned without a ball being bowled. William Porterfield
William Thomas Stuart Porterfield (born 6 September 1984) is an Irish former cricketer and a former captain of the Ireland cricket team. He played first-class cricket for Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. A left-handed batsman, he played for Ireland from 2006 to 2022, and has captained Ireland at all levels from Under-13 and is considered one of the greatest Irish cricketers of all time. Edmund "Ed" Christopher Joyce (born 22 September 1978) is a former Irish cricketer who played for both the Ireland and England national cricket teams. After beginning his career with Middlesex, he moved to Sussex in 2009, before returning to Ireland to play for Leinster Lightning in the fledgling first-class competition, the Irish Inter-Provincial Championship. Nadeem Ahmed (born 28 September 1987) is a Pakistani-born Hong Kong cricketer who appeared in one One Day International against Pakistan in 2004; he bowled 10 overs without taking a wicket and scored 1. Tanwir Afzal (born 12 June 1988) is a Hong Kong cricketer. He played for Hong Kong in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
