Hong Kong Australians are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Hong Kong descent. Many Hong Kong Australians hold dual citizenship of Australia and Hong Kong. Description Hong Kong people are generally bilingual or trilingual. Nearly everyone in Hong Kong from the younger generations can speak English. Cantonese is the language of people in Hong Kong. Most of the older generation of Hongkongese cannot speak Mandarin. Clara Law Cheuk-yiu (, born 29 May 1957 in Macau) is a Hong Kong Second Wave film director. Law currently resides in Australia. Early life Clara Law was born on 29 May 1957 in Macau. At the age of 10 she moved to Hong Kong. Law studied at the University of Hong Kong and graduated with a degree in English Literature. 2015 Parramatta Shooting
On 2 October 2015, Farhad Khalil Mohammad Jabar, a 15-year-old boy, shot and killed Curtis Cheng, an unarmed police civilian finance worker, outside the New South Wales Police Force headquarters in Parramatta, Sydney, Australia. Lindy Hou, OAM (born 18 February 1960) is an Australian tandem cyclist and triathlete from Hong Kong. Arriving in Australia with her family in 1974, she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa in the mid-1980s and became legally blind in 1996. She has won six medals at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Paralympics. Personal Hou was born in Hong Kong on 2 March 1960. Raymond Chan (; born 1951) is the first Chinese Canadian to be appointed to the Cabinet of Canada.
