Honda US90, ATC90 and ATC110 directed here The Honda US90 was a three-wheeled Recreational vehicle designed by Osamu Takeuchi. Development began in 1967, in response to requests from American dealers for products to sell in the motorcycle off-season. Takeuchi considered many variations before settling on a three-wheeled design with low-pressure ballon tires, driven by an enlarged Honda ST70 engine, through a 4 Speed Dual-Range Semi automatic clutched transmission. 1st Generation US90 (1970-1973) The Initial US90 was offered at $595 in 1970, and featured an 89cc engine producing 7 hp. The US90 designation was used until 1973, when Honda successfully trademarked the moniker ‘All Terrain Cycle’. The designation was then changed to ATC90. Honda ST70
The Honda ST-series minibikes are known as the Dax in Japan and Europe, and the Trail 70 in Canada and the US. The ST70 was exported to Canada and the US as the CT70. This is an exception to Honda's usual practice of prefix letters indicating the bike family, followed by engine size. The CT70 is mechanically unrelated to other CT-series bikes such as the CT50 Motra, and the CT50, CT90 & CT110 Trail Cubs. The ST90 was sold in the US as the Trailsport, and was not given a CT designation. The ST50, ST70, and CT70 were introduced in August 1969 and produced through 1981. The larger ST90 was produced from 1973 through 1975. The ST50 was reissued in 1995, and produced through 2000. The CT70 was also sold in the US from 1981 through 1994 with a new serial number format: JH2Dxxxxxxxxxxxxx, rather than the CT70-xxxxxxx format used since 1969. The Honda ATC125M was a three-wheeled All Terrain Cycle released in 1984, and received a major revision in 1986. The model was sold through 1987, when Honda voluntarily discontinued sales of ATC's. The first iteration can trace its development back to Honda's first ATC, the Honda US90, released in 1970, while the second iteration borrowed heavily from the ATC200 line. Horizontal ATC125M (1984-1985) The first iteration of the ATC125M (The Horizontal ATC125M) was an evolutionary advancement of the original US90 ATC released in 1970, the fourth revision of said cycle. Honda ATC200
The Honda ATC200 is an all-terrain vehicle that was introduced in 1981 as Honda's top model in the ATC line-up, remaining, in various forms, until Honda voluntarily ceased production in 1987. In the six years of production, six variations were made, often sold concurrently. Collectively, Honda produced over 530,000 ATC200 vehicles, becoming the most prolific sellers in the ATC market, and one of the most recognizable ATCs available. All ATC200 models are equipped with a 192cc 4-Stroke air-cooled OHV engine. Variations between models involve suspension, transmissions, electric start options, standard equipment racks, and final drive.
