Lüdenscheid
Lüdenscheid () is a city in the Märkischer Kreis district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the Sauerland region. Geography Lüdenscheid is located on the saddle of the watershed between the Lenne and Volme rivers which both empty into the Ruhr river (which subsequently flows into the Rhine), with three smaller valleys leading to them. The saddle has a height of 420 meters, higher elevations on the watershed are an unnamed hilltop of 505 meters in the north, and the 663 meters high ''Nordhelle'' in the Ebbe Mountains range. In the surrounding mountainous area, six dams created reservoirs to regulate the water flow in the Ruhr river and supply drinking water. They have given their name to the Ebbe Mountain Nature Park and are part of the Süder Uplands within the Rhine Massif. Olpe () is a Kreis (district) in the south-east of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Neighboring districts are Märkischer Kreis, Hochsauerland, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Altenkirchen (district), Altenkirchen, Oberbergischer Kreis. History The district was created in 1817 as ''Kreis Bilstein'', in 1819 the capital was set to be Olpe, Germany, Olpe. The Oberbergischer Kreis ( ksh, Boverbärjische Kreiß) is a ''Kreis'' (district) in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Neighboring districts are Ennepe-Ruhr, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe, Altenkirchen, Rhein-Sieg, Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, and the urban districts Remscheid and Wuppertal. Name The district was named after the region known as ''Bergisches Land'', which belonged to the County of Berg for most of the medieval era. Neuenrade is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the hills of the Sauerland in the '' Märkischer Kreis''. Geography The highest elevation in the town area is the ''Kohlberg'' with an altitude of 514 m above sea level. The lowest elevation is at ''Hölmecke'' with 190 m. The town covers an area of 54.12 km², most of which is forests (29.41 km²) and farm land (18.18 km²). The municipal territory includes the villages of Affeln, Berentrop, Blintrop and Küntrop.
