Dead Ringer Band
Dead Ringer Band were an Australian family country music band. They are best known for their ARIA Award-winning album '' Home Fires'' which won the Best Country Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 1996. Background and formation Dead Ringer Band had its roots in the husband and wife team of Bill and Diane Chambers. Shortly after the birth of their second child Kasey in 1976, and with their three-year-old son Nash, the family moved to central Australia's Nullarbor Plain. The Chambers earned a living by hunting and trapping rabbits and foxes that raided Nullarbor poultry farms, then selling the pelts. The Chambers home-schooled Nash and Kasey, and taught them American folk and country music by the Carter Family, Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt and Gram Parsons, as well as Australian country artists, Slim Dusty, Buddy Williams and Tex Morton. Bill Chambers (musician)
Bill Chambers is an Australian country musician and former member of the Dead Ringer Band. Chambers's albums ''Sleeping with the Blues'' and ''Cold Trail'' were nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Country Album. He is best known as being the father of Kasey Chambers. He lives in Ourimbah, NSW Central Coast. Career Bill Chambers was born in Southend, South Australia and married his wife Diane at age 20. Together they had two children, Nash in 1974 and Kasey in 1976. Compact Disc
The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as ''Compact Disc Digital Audio, Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage. Gram Parsons
Ingram Cecil Connor III (November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973) who was known professionally as Gram Parsons, was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist who recorded as a solo artist and with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds, and the Flying Burrito Brothers, popularizing what he called "Cosmic American Music", a hybrid of country, rhythm and blues, Soul music, soul, Folk music, folk, and Rock music, rock. Parsons was born in Winter Haven, Florida, and developed an interest in country music while attending Harvard University. He founded the International Submarine Band in 1966, but the group disbanded prior to the 1968 release of its debut album, ''Safe at Home''. Chris Hillman
Christopher Hillman (born December 4, 1944) is an American musician. He was the original bassist of and one of the original members of the Byrds, which in 1965 included Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby and Michael Clarke. With frequent collaborator Gram Parsons, Hillman was a key figure in the development of country rock, defining the genre through his work with The Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas and the country-rock group the Desert Rose Band. Lucinda Gayle Williams (born January 26, 1953) is an American singer-songwriter and a solo guitarist. Pat Drummond
Pat Drummond is an Australian singer/songwriter based in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Biography Drummond's career began in pubs in Sydney in the late 1970s and early 1980s, where he performed musical mini-operas in a folk rock style that included sections written for audience participation. He had a 10-year Friday night residency at Sydney's Rest Hotel, which was demolished in the late 1980s. Nash Chambers
Nash Chambers (born 8 May 1974, Mount Gambier) is an Australian record producer, talent manager, audio engineer and multi-instrumentalist. He is a former member of the family country music group, Dead Ringer Band (1986–98), with his father Bill, mother Diane, and younger sister Kasey Chambers. Chambers works from his own Foggy Mountain Studios in the Hunter Valley. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2007 he was nominated for Producer of the Year for Kasey's album '' Carnival'' (August 2006). Kasey Chambers
Kasey Chambers (born 4 June 1976) is an Australian country singer-songwriter and musician born in Mount Gambier. She is the daughter of fellow musicians, Diane and Bill Chambers, and the younger sister of musician and producer, Nash Chambers. All four were members of family country music group in Dead Ringer Band, in Bowral, New South Wales, from 1992 to 1998, with Chambers starting her solo career thereafter. Five of her twelve studio albums have reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, ''Barricades & Brickwalls'' (September 2001), ''Wayward Angel'' (May 2004), ''Carnival'' (August 2006) ''Rattlin' Bones'' (April 2008) and '' Dragonfly'' (January 2017). Country Music
