Home (Australian TV Series)
''Home'' is an Australian children's television series first broadcast on the ABC on 11 April 1983. It follows the stories and adventures of children living at the fictional Westmere children's home. The series featured a revolving cast with story arcs running across two to six episodes, although some characters appeared in more than one story arc. Production ''Home'' was written by Graeme Farmer and directed by Richard Sarell, Walter Boston, Noel Price and Douglas Sharp. It was the biggest production to come from the network's children's unit at the time, and featured more than 400 young actors in the cast. The series is set in a community of welfare cottages and centres on the children who come to live there. Broadcast The series aired on ABC Monday to Friday in a 6:00 pm timeslot. Christine Amor
Christine Debra Amor (born 1952) is an Australian actress of stage, television and film. Career Amor was born in Brisbane, Queensland. She graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). She has acted extensively in television guest roles and in Australian film starting in 1973. Her film roles include ''Alvin Purple'' (1973), ''Petersen'' (1974), ''Snapshot'' (1979). Amor's early television roles include appearances in ''Matlock Police'', ''Division 4'', '' Certain Women'', '' Bellbird'', '' Chopper Squad'', ''Young Ramsay'', ''Glenview High''. She is possibly best known for her role as social worker Jean Vernon during the 1979 season of ''Prisoner''. Amor later took a regular role in the Australian version of sitcom ''Are You Being Served?''. She was the female junior in the program's second season in 1981. ABC (Australian TV Network)
ABC Television is the general name for the national television services of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Until an organisational restructure in 2017/2018, ABC Television was also the name of a division of the ABC. The name was also used to refer to the first and for many years the only national ABC channel, before it was renamed ABC1 and then again to ABC TV. The Australian public broadcaster's television service was launched in November 1956 from its first television station in Australia, ABN Sydney. This was the second one in the country, with the commercial channel TCN having launched two months earlier. Children's television series (or children's television shows) are television show, television programs designed for children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. They can sometimes run during the early evening, allowing younger children to watch them after school. The purpose of these shows is mainly to entertain or educate. ABC TV, formerly known as ABC1, is an Australian national public television network. It is owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is the flagship ABC Television network. The headquarters of the ABC TV channel and the ABC are in Ultimo, an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK.
