Keith Holyoak
Keith James Holyoak (born January 16, 1950) is a Canadian-American researcher in cognitive psychology and cognitive science, working on human thinking and reasoning. Holyoak's work focuses on the role of analogy in thinking. His work showed how analogy can be used to enhance learning of new abstract concepts by both children and adults, as well as how reasoning breaks down in cases of brain damage. Holyoak is also a poet. He has published four collections of his own poems, ''My Minotaur'', ''Foreigner'', ''The Gospel According to Judas'', and ''Oracle Bones'', as well as a collection of translations of classical Chinese poetry by Li Bai and Du Fu, '' Facing the Moon''. Biography Holyoak was born in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, in 1950. Percy Hobson Holyoak
Percy Hobson Holyoak (1874 – 25 May 1926) was a British businessman in Hong Kong and member of the Legislative Council and Executive Council of Hong Kong. Background and business career Percy Hobson Holyoak was the son of the Rev. T. H. Holyoak of Chesham-Bois, Buckinghamshire, England. He first arrived in Far East as a member of the Reiss & Co., a well-known Manchester trading firm in Hong Kong since 1864. He moved to Hong Kong in 1899 and was in charge of the Hong Kong office as a managing partner. He subsequently took over the firm with P. W. Massey when it suffered in the commercial slump in 1921 and 1922 and altered the name to Holyoak, Massey, & Co. with Holyoak as the senior partner. Holyoak also held positions in many leading public companies. Neil Holyoak is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter. Living a nomadic life between Montreal, Hong Kong, British Columbia, and Los Angeles, he performs with a shifting band that comes together under the banner Holy Oak. Holy Oak's sound is a mix of folk influences intertwined with indie rock experimentation and poetic lyrics. Music Neil Holyoak's music has been referred to as folk/country with a surrealist twist. There is careful attention to poetry in lyrical composition and storytelling in Holy Oak's songs. There is often an exploration of beauty coexisting in the face of melancholia in his music.
