''Holy Roar'' is the twelfth studio album by Chris Tomlin. It was released on October 26, 2018, along with a book titled ''Holy Roar: 7 Words That Will Change the Way You Worship'', co-written with his minister Darren Whitehead, and a Spotify-exclusive "Holy Roar Podcast". Tomlin announced a short Christmas tour and a 2019 ''Holy Roar Tour'' to promote the album. Ed Cash and Bryan Fowler handled the production of the album. Background Tomlin has said that parts of the album is a response to current events. In regards to the title ''Holy Roar'', Tomlin states that "people let a massive roar out for different things, but when you put ‘holy’ in front of it, it changes everything. It's this set apart roar." He adds that ''Holy Roar'' gives the connotation of "every tribe, every language, every tongue" giving "worship to God". Christopher Dwayne Tomlin (born May 4, 1972) is an American contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and worship leader from Grand Saline, Texas, United States, who has sold over 7 million records. He is a member of Passion Conferences and is signed to EMI's sixstepsrecords. Andrew Peterson (born June 4, 1974) is an American Christian musician and author, who plays folk rock, roots rock, and country gospel music. Peterson is a founding member of the Square Peg Alliance, a group of Christian songwriters. He has toured with Caedmon's Call, Fernando Ortega, Michael Card, Sara Groves, Bebo Norman, Nichole Nordeman, Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, Ben Shive, Eric Peters, and other members of the Square Peg Alliance. Patrick Barrett is an American Christian worship singer, and songwriter. Barrett is a former member of American contemporary worship bands Unhindered and Housefires. Brian Mark Johnson (born March 17, 1978) is an American contemporary worship musician and worship pastor. He is the president and co-founder of Bethel Music, as well as a member of its Artist Collective and is one-half of the husband-and-wife worship duo, Brian & Jenn Johnson.
