The Church of the Holy Cross is a National Historic Site of Canada, located on one of the Indian reserves of the Skatin First Nation, in southwestern British Columbia. It is located on the east side of the Lillooet River on BC's first inland Gold Rush trail, the Douglas Road. Skatin Nations is the St'at'imcets language rendition of the reserve-town's usual name in English, Skookumchuck Hot Springs (often just "Skookumchuck", which means "strong water(s)", is also the name of three other places in British Columbia and in general use means a rapids - a set of rapids, historically called the "Falls" of the Lillooet River are nearby). The Holy Cross Church (German: ''Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche'') is a Catholic church in the Bornheim district of Frankfurt am Main (Germany). It is similar in design to the ''Frauenfriedenskirche'' (''Church of Our Lady of Peace'') in Frankfurt-Bockenheim. It was built by Martin Weber from 1928 to 1929, on a rise then known as ''Bornheimer Hang''. The church is an unusual example of interwar modernism as sacred Bauhaus architecture. The church was finally completed on 25 August 1929 and handed to the Catholic congregation of Bornheim. It was damaged in the Second World War, and afterwards rebuilt with money donated for this purpose. It is a branch church of the parish of St. Josef and is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Limburg. The Church of the Holy Cross ( pl, Bazylika Świętego Krzyża) is a Roman Catholic house of worship in Warsaw, Poland. Located on ''Krakowskie Przedmieście'' opposite the main Warsaw University campus, it is one of the most notable Baroque churches in Poland's capital. The Holy Cross Church is currently administered by the Missionary Friars of Vincent de Paul. History As early as the 15th century, a small wooden chapel of the Holy Cross had been erected here. In 1526 the chapel was demolished, and a newer church was erected. Refurbished and extended by Paweł Zembrzuski in 1615, the church was too small to fill the needs of the growing city. Church of the Holy Cross ( lt, Šv. Kryžiaus bažnyčia) is a Roman Catholic church in the Vilnius Old Town. Initially, in 1543 a chapel was built which was later expanded and rebuilt. The current towers were built in 1725. Following the fire in 1737 the church was reconstructed and a late baroque interior was installed. A former monastery complex of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God is nearby the church. The church is famous for a spring with miraculous water in its basement (people believe that this water cures eye diseases) and a painting of Mary, mother of Jesus, which bestows favors. Holy Cross Church, Kurla is a Roman Catholic Church in Kurla, a suburb of Mumbai, India. It was built during the Portuguese era by the Jesuits in 1588 and rebuilt in 1848. It is one of the oldest churches in Mumbai. The church belongs to the Archdiocese of Bombay. History St. Francis Xavier had written the King of Portugal, requesting land near the village of Kurla on Salcette Island to build a church and residence. On 22 February 1570, King Sebastian of Portugal wrote from Evora confirming the donation of the Villages of Bandra and Kurla, as well as Saki and Mohili in favour of the Jesuits of St. Paul's College of Goa. The Abbey of the Holy Cross (german: Kloster zum Heiligen Kreuz) in Rostock, Germany, was founded in the 13th century by Cistercian nuns. It is the only fully preserved abbey in the city. The complex includes the former abbey church which is used today as the University Church (''Universitätskirche''). The remaining former convent buildings house the Museum of Cultural History (''Kulturhistorische Museum'') for the city of Rostock.
