Holton is a brand owned by the Conn-Selmer division of Steinway Musical Instruments. The original business was a used instrument shop began in 1898 by Frank Holton, a trombone player, in Chicago, Illinois. The firm built brass instruments for ten years in Chicago, then in Elkhorn, Wisconsin from 1918 until 2008, when production of Holton-branded instruments moved to Eastlake, Ohio. The business remained independent until it was acquired by Leblanc in 1964. Leblanc was acquired by Conn-Selmer in 2004 and its properties became subsidiaries of Conn-Selmer. Frank Holton Frank E. Holton Township is a civil township of Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 2,532. Communities *Brunswick is a small unincorporated community in section 13 of the township at on M-120 at the eastern boundary with section 18 of Sheridan Township in Newaygo County. It was founded about 1875 as the point where the stage coach road met the Pere Marquette Railway line between Muskegon and White Cloud. Passengers and mail were taken north from here to Hesperia. The settlement was first called "County Line" and later "Marionville", after the first postmaster, Isaac Marion. However, the post office, established May 1881, was called "Dash." Holton is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 3,401. History The party that chose the site of Holton started at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in May 1856. A train of six covered wagons, each drawn by two yoke of oxen, started the long trek to take Free State settlers to Kansas. They were financed by the Kansas Society of Milwaukee which was headed by Edward Dwight Holton, the Milwaukee abolitionist. They met General James H. Lane with two hundred men at Nebraska City, Nebraska, a rendezvous for Free State men. They followed the ''Jim Lane Road'' into Kansas approximately thirty miles. They came to Elk Creek, 2½ miles west of Holton, where they cut timbers to make a bridge, crossed it and made camp where Central School now stands. Holtville (formerly, Holton) is a city in Imperial County, California. Holtville is located east of El Centro. The population was 5,939 at the 2010 census, up from 5,612 in 2000.
