Hollywood Forever (album)
''Hollywood Forever'' is the 10th studio album from L.A. Guns. The album was produced by Andy Johns, and released on Cleopatra Records. The album was released as a CD, vinyl record and digital download. Early work, including pre-production and songwriting, on the album began in late 2011, with recording beginning in early 2012 in Los Angeles. The album title was chosen by Phil Lewis (musician), Phil Lewis to express the band's connection to the Los Angeles area in general and Hollywood in particular. The album was one of the final albums to feature production work from Andy Johns, who died in the spring of 2013. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. Stacey Blades
Stacey David Blades is a guitarist originally from Toronto Canada, who has played with such bands as Fraidy Katt, Roxx Gang, Supercool, L.A. Guns, and Electric Radio Kings. He has played on the L.A. Guns studio albums ''Rips the Covers Off'', '' Tales from the Strip'', '' Covered in Guns'', and '' Hollywood Forever'', and the L.A. Guns live album '' Loud and Dangerous: Live from Hollywood''. He authored a book ''Confessions of a Replacement Rockstar'' in 2009 Via Booksurge and Amazon. In 2009, Blades released his first guitar instrumental solo album called ''Symphonic Slam'' on Cleopatra Records. At the end of 2012, Blades decided to leave L.A. Guns to pursue more personal opportunities for performing and songwriting. He worked with Sony Music designing and writing guitar loop packages. Kelly Nickels
Kelly Nickels (born January 5, 1962) is a bassist who has played in various bands including Sweet Pain, Faster Pussycat, and L.A. Guns. Career Faster Pussycat Nickels started as a roadie and light man for the band Hotshot, which was an early incarnation of Danger Danger. In 1981, he joined metal band Virgin Steele. Nickels joined the band Sweet Pain in New York as a bassist, and released one album with them in 1985. Kelly and drummer Ronnie Taz quit Sweet Pain, and he was replaced by Victor Prestin. He moved on to the band Faster Pussycat, but was badly injured in a motorcycle accident (at an intersection on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California) in October 1986. Due to this injury, his position in the band was replaced. His left leg was broken in seven different places. He was in the hospital for 3 months and had 10 different surgeries. Steve Riley (drummer)
Steve Riley (born January 22, 1956) is an American rock drummer, best known for his work with Keel, W.A.S.P., and L.A. Guns. Career After graduating high school in the 70s, Riley moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career. In 1979, he joined a revival of Steppenwolf, but the lineup broke up later that year. Riley joined up-and-coming L.A. band Keel and recorded their breakthrough album ''The Right to Rock'' with them in 1984. Later that year, Riley departed Keel to replace founding member Tony Richards in W.A.S.P., another L.A. band whose debut album had recently achieved gold status in sales. Scott Griffin is an American musician who is best known as a former bassist for L.A. Guns and Ratt. In 2007, Griffin was announced as the bassist for L.A. Guns, having previously played in Dizzy Reed's cover band Hookers N' Blow, replacing Adam Hamilton. From 2015 until April 1, 2016, Griffin was the bassist of a revamped version of Ratt, led by drummer Bobby Blotzer.
