''Hollywood Canine Canteen'' is a 1946 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on April 20, 1946. The cartoon features various caricatures of Hollywood film celebrities and famous jazz musicians of the day, all zoomorphized as dogs. Plot The canine pets of Hollywood stars meet and decide they need their own nightclub. Robert McKimson
Robert Porter McKimson Sr. (October 13, 1910 – September 29, 1977) was an American animator and illustrator, best known for his work on the ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons from Warner Bros. Cartoons and later DePatie–Freleng Enterprises. He wrote and directed many animated cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, Hippety Hopper, and The Tasmanian Devil, among other characters. He was also well known for defining Bugs Bunny's look in the 1943 short ''Tortoise Wins by a Hare''. ''The Mouse-Merized Cat'' is a 1946 Warner Bros. cartoon in the ''Merrie Melodies'' series, directed by Robert McKimson. It is a sequel to 1945's ''Tale of Two Mice'', with the Abbott and Costello characterizations ("Babbit and Catstello") cast as mice. A 1942 cartoon, ''A Tale of Two Kitties'', cast Abbott and Costello as cats and introduced Tweety Bird. They are voiced by Tedd Pierce and Mel Blanc respectively. Babbit and Catsello are fictional characters, based on the comedic duo Abbott and Costello, that appeared in Warner Bros. animated cartoons. Gerardo Luigi Colonna (September 17, 1904 – November 21, 1986), better known as Jerry Colonna, was an American musician, actor, comedian, singer, songwriter and trombonist who played the zaniest of Bob Hope's sidekicks in Hope's popular radio shows and films of the 1940s and 1950s. He also voiced the March Hare in Disney's 1951 animated film '' Alice in Wonderland.''
