Hollie Duncan
Hollie Duncan (born January 6, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario as Hollie Nicol) is a Canadian curler. She currently skips her own team on the World Curling Tour. Career Juniors As a bantam-aged curler, Duncan skipped her Unionville Curling Club rink to a provincial Bantam championship in 2002. In 2004, Duncan represented the Bayview Country Club when her team won the Ontario Winter Games championship. Duncan wrapped up her junior career by winning the 2007 provincial junior championship. Her rink of Laura Hickey, Karen Sagle and Hilary McDermott from the Kitchener-Waterloo Granite Club would then go on to represent Ontario at the 2007 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the juniors, Duncan led Ontario to a 7–5 record, which was not good enough to make the playoffs. Duncan had a successful university curling career, playing for Wilfrid Laurier University. Jill Brothers
Jillian Brothers (born May 20, 1983 as Jill Mouzar ronounced "MOW-zer" is a Canadian curler. Brothers was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and now resides in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She currently plays second on Team Andrea Kelly out of New Brunswick. Career Brothers started curling in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Her first Nova Scotia junior championship was in 2001, along with Meaghan Smart, Meghan MacAdams, Carolyn Marshall, and coach Albert Smart. This team was the first Liverpool team to curl at the national level since 1970, representing Nova Scotia at the 2001 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. 2010 Sobeys Slam
The 2010 Sobeys Slam was the third women's Grand Slam event of the 2010–11 curling season. It took place from November 11 to 14 at the John Brother MacDonald Stadium in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. It was the third ever Sobeys Slam event, and the first held since the event was put on hiatus during the 2009–10 season. The total prize pool of the event is CAD $60,000, and the winner of the event, Jennifer Jones, received CAD $12,000. Grand Slam Of Curling
The Grand Slam of Curling (branded as the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling for sponsorship reasons) is a series of curling bonspiels that are a part of the annual World Curling Tour. Grand Slam events offer a purse of at least CAD$100,000, and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the World. The Grand Slam was instituted during the 2001–02 season for men and 2006–07 for women (with the 2006 Players' Championship also considered a Slam), but some of the Grand Slam events have longer histories as bonspiels. Kirsten Wall
Kirsten Wall (born November 27, 1975 as Kirsten Harmark) is a Canadian curler from Milton, Ontario. She was the alternate player on the Jennifer Jones rink which represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics and captured a gold medal. Curling career In 1995 she won the Ontario provincial junior curling championship as a skip earning her team the right to represent Ontario at the 1995 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. She lost in the final that year to Kelly MacKenzie (Scott). A number of years later, Wall joined the Sherry Middaugh team, first as her alternate, and then in 2002 as her third. In 2003, Wall won the Canada Cup of Curling as third for Middaugh. Wall played in her first Tournament of Hearts in 2004 after not having played in two previous trip as Middaugh's alternate. Karen Trines (born December 15, 1986, in Ottawa as Karen Sagle) is a Canadian curler from Nepean, Ontario. She currently plays lead for Team Mann on the World Curling Tour. Career Trines twice represented Ontario at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The first time in 2005 with skip Erin Morrissey, and the second in 2007 with skip Hollie Nicol (now Duncan). During the 2011–12 curling season, Trines skipped her own rink on the World Curling Tour, playing in just one event, the 2011 Royal LePage OVCA Women's Fall Classic, where her team went 4–3 and missed the playoffs. After the season, she joined the Lisa Farnell rink at second position. She won her first WCT event at the 2013 Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau.
