Bill Hollar
William Mack "Bill" Hollar, Sr. (September 6, 1938 - November 26, 2012) was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver who participated in 29 races out of his nine-year career in NASCAR. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hollar. Prior to his NASCAR career, he faithfully served in the United States Navy. Career While he started his races on an average of 27th place, Hollar has managed to improve his finishing position to an average of 23rd place. After racing for 5402 laps and , Hollar has managed to earn a grand total of $13,920 ($ when adjusted for inflation). Two top-ten finishes were earned at the 1970 Home State 200 and the 1971 Nashville 420. After retiring, Hollar attempted to qualify for the 1987 Holly Farms 400 race but failed to do so. While Hollar would generally find success on dirt tracks by finishing in 17th place on average, his Achilles heel came on racing track with flat surfaces. John Henry Hollar (August 7, 1922 – April 9, 1997) was an American football fullback in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins and the Detroit Lions. Steve Hollar (born c. 1966) is an American actor known for his role as Rade Butcher in the 1986 film '' Hoosiers'' starring Gene Hackman. Hollar was a member of DePauw University's basketball team when '' Hoosiers'' was filmed in 1985. Because NCAA rules prohibit athletes from being paid for playing sports during their college eligibility, Hollar was suspended for three games in November 1986, shortly after the movie's world premiere. The following month he also was ordered to return 5% of his movie earnings. Hollar appeared in three films: '' Hoosiers'' (1986), ''Hell on the Battleground'' (1988), and ''New Life'' (2017). Wenceslaus Hollar (23 July 1607 – 25 March 1677) was a prolific and accomplished Bohemian graphic artist of the 17th century, who spent much of his life in England. He is known to German speakers as ; and to Czech speakers as . He is particularly noted for his engravings and etchings. He was born in Prague, died in London, and was buried at St Margaret's Church, Westminster. Early life After his family was ruined by the Sack of Prague in the Thirty Years' War, the young Hollar, who had been destined for the legal profession, decided to become an artist. The earliest of his works that have come down to us are dated 1625 and 1626; they are small plates, and one of them is a copy of a "Virgin and Child" by Dürer, whose influence upon Hollar's work was always great. In 1627 he was in Frankfurt where he was apprenticed to the renowned engraver Matthäus Merian. Hollar Hosiery Mills-Knit Sox Knitting Mills is a historic knitting mill located at Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. It consists of two mill brick manufacturing buildings and a boiler house that were connected by a hyphen in the mid-1960s. The first mill building was built about 1930, and is a one- to two-story, 16 bay, brick veneer structure. The boiler house was also built about 1930, and is a small, brick building, with its flat roof and terra cotta coping. The hosiery yarn mill was built about 1940, and is two-story, six bay by 10 bay, brick-veneered building. Both mill buildings feature banks of steel-sash factory windows. The knitting mill operated until 1968.
