Holden Staes
Holden Staes (born June 10, 2003) is an American football tight end for the Tennessee Volunteers of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). He previously played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Early life and high school Staes initially grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended The Westminster Schools. He was named a team captain for his senior season and was a three-time First Team All-Region Selection (2019-21). Over his career, he amassed 51 catches for 744 yards and 7 TD. He also made 53 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss. Staes earned 26 NCAA Division I football offers, including offers from Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, andTennessee. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
