Holden ECOmmodore
The Holden ECOmmodore is a Petroleum electric hybrid vehicle, hybrid Concept car, concept variant of the Holden VT Commodore, developed by Holden in conjunction with the CSIRO. It was powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine combined with an electric motor running on lead-acid batteries. The bodywork of the ECommodore resembled the production Holden VT Commodore, VT Commodore sedan models, however it utilized a fastback profile, using the longer wheelbase of the Holden VT Commodore, VT Commodore station wagon models. It also previewed a revised headlamp design that would be adopted on the Holden VX Commodore, VX Commodore, which replaced the VT model in October 2000. Holden, formerly known as General Motors-Holden, was an Australian subsidiary company of General Motors. It was an Australian automobile manufacturer, importer, and exporter which sold cars under its own brand, marque in Australia. In its last three years, it switched entirely to importing cars. It was headquartered in Port Melbourne, with major industrial operations in the states of South Australia and Victoria (Australia), Victoria. North American International Auto Show
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), also known as the Detroit Auto Show as of 2022 and prior to NAIAS, is an annual auto show held in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., at Huntington Place. The show was held in January from 1989 to 2019. It was intended to move to the summer in 2020, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that year and 2021, before returning in September 2022. It is among the largest auto shows in North America. UPI says the show is "regarded as the foremost venue for armanufacturers to unveil new products". The show begins with press preview days, industry preview days and a charity preview event. The charity preview raises money for local children's charities. Holden VE Commodore
The Holden Commodore (VE) is an executive car that was produced by Holden from 2006 to 2013. It was the first iteration of the fourth generation of the Commodore. Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VE) and Holden Calais (VE); utility models were included as the Holden Ute (VE). National Motor Museum, Birdwood
The National Motor Museum, formerly also known as The Old Mill and Birdwood Mill after its initial location, is an automobile museum in the Adelaide Hills in the township of Birdwood, South Australia. History The museum was started by Jack Kaines and Len Vigar in 1964, and, as the Birdwood Mill Pioneer, Art and Motor Museum, sold to a private company led by Gavin Sandford-Morgan in 1970. Olympic Flame
The Olympic flame is a symbol used in the Olympic movement. It is also a symbol of continuity between ancient and modern games. Several months before the Olympic Games, the Olympic flame is lit at Olympia, Greece. This ceremony starts the Olympic torch relay, which formally ends with the lighting of the Olympic cauldron during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The flame then continues to burn in the cauldron for the duration of the Games, until it is extinguished during the Olympic closing ceremony. The Holden Commodore (VX) is an executive car that was produced by Holden from 2000 to 2002. It was the second iteration of the third generation of the Commodore. Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VX) and Holden Calais (VX), and it formed the basis for a new generation Holden Ute (VU) coupé utility and Holden Monaro (V2) coupé. The VX series was produced between October 2000 and September 2002, as a minor restyling update to the VT series from 1997.
