Hold On (Alexia)
"Hold On" is a single released by the Italian singer Alexia solely in Brazil in 1997. It was the only single released during Alexia's time with DWA that was not written by Alexia and Robyx. It was released on CD only by Spotlight in 1997 with a commission of remixes. Alexia's management team at DWA (who had been releasing and licensing all of Alexia's music) did not know about the release of this single, though they have now released the track on some online stores. The CD included the song "It's Christmas Time" which is actually "Hold On" with different lyrics. "It's Christmas Time" was later featured on the Limited edition Christmas version of ''Fan Club''. It was one of the songs of the Brazilian soap opera Por Amor. Fan Club (Alexia Album)
''Fan Club'' (titled ''Fun Club'' in the U.S.) is the debut studio album by Italian singer Alexia released in 1997. The album featured mostly eurodance tracks, as was producer Robyx's speciality. It was released in 1997 after the release of Alexia's fourth single "Uh La La La", yet strangely no further singles were released from the album with the exception of two country specific releases of "Virtual Reality" and "Hold On". A version of "Virtual Reality" had already been released in Italy credited to E.Y.E. featuring Alexia. Release The album was released on CD and would be the first of Alexia's releases to be released by Sony Dancepool in her home country (Sony Code 487887). Despite her now being signed to Sony, some international versions were released on other labels. As had been the policy with her past singles, Blanco Y Negro released the Spanish version, K-Tel the Finnish release, Spotlight the Brazilian version, Polygram the French release and in the US, the album was rel ... Pop Music
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. The terms ''popular music'' and ''pop music'' are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many disparate styles. During the 1950s and 1960s, pop music encompassed rock and roll and the youth-oriented styles it influenced. ''Rock'' and ''pop'' music remained roughly synonymous until the late 1960s, after which ''pop'' became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible. Although much of the music that appears on record charts is considered to be pop music, the genre is distinguished from chart music. Identifying factors usually include repeated choruses and hooks, short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), and rhythms or tempos that can be easily danced to. Much pop music also borrows elements from other styles ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Virtual Reality (song)
"Virtual Reality" is a single released by the Italian singer Alexia solely in Finland in 1997. The song was released on two-track CD only by Dancepool in 1997. Alexia's management team at DWA (who had been releasing and licensing all of Alexia's music) did not know about the release of this single. Instead a version of "Virtual Reality" credited to E.Y.E. featuring Alexia was released by DWA in Italy in early 1997. Only samples of Alexia's vocals rather than the whole song were used, though the music was the same. The E.Y.E. version was released before Alexia's debut album ''Fan Club'' was released, which contained the track. Gimme Love (Alexia Song)
"Gimme Love" is a song by Italian singer Alexia, released in March 1998 as the lead single from her second album, '' The Party'' (1998). It reached number one in both Italy and Spain, and charted in the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart, where a complete set of remixes for the British market were issued. It is based on the 1977 song "Gimme Some" by Brendon. A music video was also produced to promote the single. Release This was the first of Alexia's singles to be fully released by Sony, with a maxi CD, 2 track CD and 12" being released in Italy (Sony Code 665647) and later Europe. The initial printing run of the maxi contained an error on the cover, titling the track "Gimmi Love". Further print runs of the maxi CD did not feature the track's title on the cover at all. A second 2 track CD was released with a reversed track listing to the original 2 track release. After Alexia's success in the UK with the Almighty remix of "Uh La La La", a full set of remixes were commissioned for ... Por Amor (1997 TV Series)
''Por Amor'' (English: ''Anything For Love'') is a Brazilian telenovela created by Manoel Carlos, starring Regina Duarte and Gabriela Duarte in the main roles. It replaced ''A Indomada'' and preceded ''Torre de Babel'', and was the 55th telenovela to be aired by TV Globo. Production "What would you be able to do for love?" it was the motto of the advertising campaign for the release of the novel. For the second time, Regina Duarte was a Helena de Manoel Carlos - the first out in História de Amor (Love History), in 1995. For the actress, even Por Amor would have been História de Amor 2 – because of the approach of the mother-daughter relationship. The actress's third Helena would come later, in Páginas da Vida (Pages of Life), in 2006. The name, used by the author in almost all of his novels since Baila Comigo (1981), has become a mark of style and gives unity to his work, creating a bond between the strong and charming "middle-class heroines" as he usually does. characteri ... Songs Written By Alexia (Italian Singer)
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical composers fo ...
