Holborn College
Kaplan Holborn College was a college of higher education in London, England, specialising in accounting, finance, law and business. It was originally established as Holborn Law College in 1969 to prepare young lawyers from overseas for the University of London International Programme – and then Wolverhampton University External – LLB exams and received the Queen's Award for Export Achievement in 1982 for its role in international education. For a short time it was based at 200 Greyhound Road in Fulham, where it offered part-time courses for England & Wales Solicitors' Finals as well as certificated courses in individual degree-level law subjects. Holborn ( or ) is a district in central London, which covers the south-eastern part of the London Borough of Camden and a part ( St Andrew Holborn Below the Bars) of the Ward of Farringdon Without in the City of London. The area has its roots in the ancient parish of Holborn, which lay on the west bank of the now buried River Fleet, taking its name from an alternative name for the river. The area is sometimes described as part of the West End of London or of the wider West London area. Royal Greenwich Trust School is a free school created out of a former University Technical College which opened in the Charlton Riverside area of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in London, England in September 2013. The campus is located along the A206 near the banks of the River Thames, close to the Thames Barrier. It is adjacent to Windrush Primary School and Maryon Park. History The college was converted from a UTC to a free school in 2016, after the UTC closed owing to low admission numbers. The local authority were required to pick up the costs of converting to an 11-18 secondary school. The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is the independent body that checks on standards and quality in UK higher education. Charlton Riverside, previously known as New Charlton, is the area along the south bank of the river Thames at Charlton, London, which forms part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Thames Barrier
The Thames Barrier is a retractable Flood barrier, barrier system built to protect the floodplain of most of Greater London from exceptionally high tides and storm surges moving up from the North Sea.
