Brady Hoke
Brady Patrick Hoke (; born November 3, 1958) is an American football coach in his second stint as the head coach at San Diego State University. He was previously the head coach at the University of Michigan from 2011 to 2014. Hoke grew up in Ohio and attended Ball State University, where he played linebacker from 1977 to 1980. He began his coaching career in 1982 and held assistant coaching positions at Grand Valley State (1983), Western Michigan (1984–1986), Toledo (1987–1989), Oregon State (1989–1994), and Michigan (1995–2002). Hoke left his assistant coaching position at Michigan in December 2002 to become the head football coach at his alma mater, Ball State. In six years at Ball State, Hoke was credited with turning around the football program. Chris Hoke
Christopher L. Hoke (born April 6, 1976) is a former American football defensive lineman in the National Football League. He spent his entire eleven-year professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. High school years Hoke attended Foothill High School in Santa Ana, California, and won three varsity letters each in football and track and field. In football, he was a three-time All-League honoree, a two-time All-CIF honoree, and a two-time All-County honoree. As a senior, he was also named the League Defensive Player of the Year and helped lead his team to the CIF quarterfinals. Eldon Wayne Hoke (March 23, 1958 – April 19, 1997), nicknamed El Duce, was an American musician best known as the drummer and lead singer of the shock rock band the Mentors, as well as other acts, including Chinas Comidas and the Screamers. Apart from his musical career, Eldon was also an actor who appeared in several films as an extra, and discussed his hugely-controversial band and lifestyle on the notorious Jerry Springer and Wally George TV talk-shows. Jacob Hoke
Jacob Hoke (March 17, 1825 – December 26, 1893) was a nineteenth-century American merchant and businessman in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. His personal observations and diary entries formed the basis for one of the earliest classic accounts of the Gettysburg Campaign during the American Civil War. He was also a prolific writer of widely circulated religious materials for the United Brethren Church. Formative years Hoke was born in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania on March 17, 1825 to Henry and Sarah (Eyster) Hoke. Jonathan David Hoke (born January 24, 1957) is an American football coach who is the Passing game coordinator and cornerbacks coach for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the defensive coordinator at the University of Maryland, College Park from 2019 to 2020 and also served as the defensive backs coach for the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans. Martin R. Hoke (born May 18, 1952) is an American Republican politician, former member of the Ohio Casino Control Commission, and former member of the United States House of Representatives from Ohio. Biography Hoke was born in Lakewood, Ohio, and attended school at the private Western Reserve Academy. Michael Hoke
Michael Hoke (1874 – 1944) was a leading orthopedic surgeon who pioneered the advance of the science for disabled children throughout the United States. The son of American Civil War Maj. Gen. Robert F. Hoke, Michael Hoke spent his childhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was a nephew of Robert Van Wyck, the first Mayor of New York City after the consolidation of the five boroughs in 1898. Hoke attended the University of North Carolina, where he was captain of the school's first great football team in 1892. He was involved in the founding of the first Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Decatur, Georgia. Robert Hoke
Robert Frederick Hoke (May 27, 1837 – July 3, 1912) was a Confederate major general during the American Civil War. He was present at one of the earliest battles, the Battle of Big Bethel, where he was commended for coolness and judgment. Wounded at Chancellorsville, he recovered in time for the defense of Petersburg and Richmond. His brigade distinguished itself at Cold Harbor (June 1864), acknowledged by Grant as his most costly defeat. Hoke was later a businessman and railroad executive.
