''Hoje É o Primeiro Dia do Resto da Sua Vida'' (Portuguese for "Today is the first day of the rest of your life") is the second solo record by Brazilian singer Rita Lee. Originally intended to be released as an album by Os Mutantes, due to conflicts with the band's record label it was released as a Rita Lee solo effort. The album marks the last time Lee would work with the Baptista brothers before her exit from Mutantes. In a matter of fact, the album was a product of a proper Os Mutantes creative process. The record company Polydor, declined to publish two Mutantes album within one year (the former was '' Mutantes e Seus Cometas no País do Baurets''). The band decided to exclusively give Ms. Lee the vocal role, and publish the album under her name. Due to its scarcity, original pressings of the album have been known to sell for upwards of $1,000. Rita Lee Jones (; born 31 December 1947) is a Brazilian rock singer, composer and writer. Os Mutantes
Os Mutantes (meaning '' the mutants''; ) are an influential Brazilian rock band that were linked with the Tropicália movement, a dissident musical movement during the Brazilian dictatorship of the late 1960s. The band is considered to be one of the main groups of Brazilian rock. Heavily influenced by Anglo-American psychedelic pop, they bridged Brazilian sensibilities together with studio trickery, feedback, distortion, and musique concrète. They released their now-acclaimed self-titled debut album in 1968. Lúcia Maria Turnbull, known as Lucinha Turnbull (born 22 April 1953), is a Brazilian singer, composer and guitarist, considered the first woman electric guitarist in Brazil. Biography Born in São Paulo, Turnbull is daughter of a Scottish father and a Brazilian mother. She got her first guitar when she was 13. When she was 16 years old she moved to London, where she joined the folk group The Solid British Hat Band. Clavinet
The Clavinet is an electrically amplified clavichord invented by Ernst Zacharias and manufactured by the Hohner company of Trossingen, West Germany, from 1964 to 1982. The instrument produces sounds by a rubber pad striking a point on a tensioned string, and was designed to resemble the Renaissance-era clavichord. Although originally intended for home use, the Clavinet became popular on stage, and could be used to create electric guitar sounds on a keyboard. It is strongly associated with Stevie Wonder, who used the instrument extensively, particularly on his 1972 hit "Superstition", and was regularly featured in rock, funk and reggae music throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Piano

Minimoog
The Minimoog is an analog synthesizer first manufactured by Moog Music between 1970 and 1981. Designed as a more affordable, portable version of the modular Moog synthesizer, it was the first synthesizer sold in retail stores. It was first popular with progressive rock and jazz musicians and found wide use in disco, pop, rock and electronic music. Production of the Minimoog stopped in the early 1980s after the sale of Moog Music. In 2002, founder Robert Moog regained the rights to the Moog brand, bought the company, and released an updated version of the Minimoog, the Minimoog Voyager. Sérgio Dias Baptista (born December 1, 1950) is a Brazilian rock musician, composer and guitar player. Twice a Latin Grammy nominee, he is best known for his work with the band Os Mutantes and has been the only consistent member of the band, appearing on every album since its formation. Arnolpho Lima Filho (born 5 May 1951 in São Paulo), known as Liminha, is a Brazilian musician and producer. He started his career as the bassist of "Os Baobás", and was called in 1970 to tour with Os Mutantes, becoming an official member later. In 1974, he left the group to start his producing career.
