Hohepa Jacob
Hohepa Jacob (16 November 1894 – 30 May 1955), also known as Harry Jacob, was a New Zealand rugby union player. A wing-forward and loose forward, Jacob represented Horowhenua and Manawhenua at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand Māori side in 1913, 1914, 1922, and 1923, captaining the team in 1922. He was a member of the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, on their 1920 tour of New South Wales. He played eight matches on that tour, but did not appear in any Test matches. During World War I, Jacob served in the New Zealand (Māori) Pioneer Battalion, rising to the rank of 2nd lieutenant. Levin, New Zealand
Levin (; mi, Taitoko) is the largest town and seat of the Horowhenua District, in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located east of Lake Horowhenua, around 95 km north of Wellington and 50 km southwest of Palmerston North. The town has a population of making it the 30th largest urban area in New Zealand, and third largest in Manawatū-Whanganui behind Palmerston North and Whanganui. Levin is a service centre for the surrounding rural area, and a centre for light manufacturing. To the west of the main town lies Lake Horowhenua, which covers some 3.9 sq/km. John Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe
Admiral of the Fleet John Rushworth Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe, (5 December 1859 – 20 November 1935) was a Royal Navy officer. He fought in the Anglo-Egyptian War and the Boxer Rebellion and commanded the Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland in May 1916 during the First World War. His handling of the fleet at that battle was controversial. Jellicoe made no serious mistakes and the German High Seas Fleet retreated to port, at a time when defeat would have been catastrophic for Britain, but the public was disappointed that the Royal Navy had not won a more dramatic victory given that they outnumbered the enemy. Jellicoe later served as First Sea Lord, overseeing the expansion of the Naval Staff at the Admiralty and the introduction of convoys, but was relieved at the end of 1917.
