Hockey At The 2006 Commonwealth Games – Women's Tournament
Women's field hockey at the 2006 Commonwealth Games took place between 16 March and 25 March. The competition consisted of a round robin stage of two groups of five with the winners and runners-up of each group qualifying for the semifinals. All matches were played at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in the Parkville area of Melbourne. The Gold medal was won by Australia, who defeated 2002 champions India 1 – 0 in the final. England won the bronze medal by defeating New Zealand 3 – 1 on penalty strokes. Jennifer "Jen" Wilson (born 27 March 1979) is the head coach for Scotland. She is a former South Africa international field hockey player. She was appointed Head Coach for Scotland on a 3 year contract, starting on 1 August 2018. Angie Skirving
Angela Robyn Lambert (; born 1 February 1981, in Toowoomba) was an Australian Women's Field Hockey player. She captained the under 21 Australian women's field hockey squad before entering the Hockeyroos in 1998 and in 2000 won gold at the Sydney Olympics. Angie went on to play in two more Olympic games and played over 225 games for Australia. Apart from playing in the Hockeyroos she played for the AHL Queensland Scorchers.
