Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV; vi, Đài Truyền hình Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) is a Vietnamese television network owned by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. History The old name of HCMC Television was Saigon Liberation Television that began broadcasting on 1 May 1975. Until April 30, 1975, the name was Saigon Television (Republic of Vietnam), founded in 1965, broadcast from February 2, 1966, to April 29, 1975. At the time, in Saigon, there were two different TV stations immediately adjacent in downtown: the TV station of the US military and Saigon Television. While in South Vietnam there were five TV stations (Saigon, Cần Thơ, Huế, Nha Trang and Quy Nhơn), television in the North Vietnam was still in the testing period. Digital television (DTV) is the transmission of television signals using digital encoding, in contrast to the earlier analog television technology which used analog signals. At the time of its development it was considered an innovative advancement and represented the first significant evolution in television technology since color television in the 1950s. Modern digital television is transmitted in high-definition television (HDTV) with greater resolution than analog TV. Analog television is the original television technology that uses analog signals to transmit video and audio. In an analog television broadcast, the brightness, colors and sound are represented by amplitude, instantaneous phase and frequency, phase and frequency of an analog signal. Đinh Bộ Lĩnh (924–979) (r. 968–979), real name allegedly Đinh Hoàn ( 丁 桓), was the first Vietnamese emperor following the liberation of the country from the rule of the Chinese Southern Han Dynasty, as well as the founder of the short-lived Đinh Dynasty and a significant figure in the establishment of Vietnamese independence and political unity in the 10th century. Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai (1 November 1910 in Vinh, Annam – 28 August 1941 in Hóc Môn, Cochinchina) was a Vietnamese revolutionary and a leader of the Indochinese Communist Party during the 1930s. Early life and education Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai was born Nguyễn Thị Vịnh on 1 November 1910 in Vinh, Nghệ An province, Vietnam. Her father, Nguyễn Huy Bình, also known as Hàn Bình, was born in Hanoi. He had learnt French but, due to failing the civil service examinations, chose to work as a railway official in Vinh. Her mother, Đậu Thị Thư, was a petty shopkeeper from Đức Thọ, Hà Tĩnh province.
