Ho Airport
Ho Airport is a regional airport built to serve Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana. Construction was completed in 2017, although the airport was not opened to commercial traffic until 2021. History On 18 September 2015, President John Dramani Mahama held a groundbreaking ceremony for Ho Airport. The construction of the airport is in line with the Ghanaian government's goal to have airports in each of the country's regions. The cost of construction is estimated to be US$25 million, provided by Ghana Airports Company Limited. The company building Ho Airport stated in May 2017 that the project would be finished by the end of 2017. Construction began in September 2015 and was expected to cost US$25 million. Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) is a state-owned company with responsibility for developing, maintaining, planning and managing airports in Ghana. It was registered in 2006 and presently manages airports such as Kotoka International Airport, Wa Airport, Tamale Airport, Sunyani Airport, Ho Airport, Kumasi Airport and other airstrips in Ghana. It was established by result of the decoupling of the existing Ghana Civil Aviation Authority(GCAA) which was in line with current trends that are in the aviation industry. Kotoka International Airport
Kotoka International Airport is an international airport in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The airport is operated by Ghana Airports Company Limited, Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), which has its offices on the airport property. It is the sole international airport in Ghana. In 2019, the airport served a record 3 million passengers, although this reduced to 2.1 million in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It presently serves as a hub for domestic and regional operator Africa World Airlines, and a base for domestic operator Passion Air. The airport consists of two passenger terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 2 serves only domestic flights, while Terminal 3 serves regional, international and long-haul operators. Togbe Afede XIV (born James Akpo on 23 April 1957) is the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, President of Asogli Traditional Area, and former President of the National House of Chiefs. Early life and education Togbe Afede XIV was born as James Akpo in Ho on 23 April 1957 to Corporal Patrick Akpo and Madam Rose Anyawoe. His twin brother, Philip, passed away at a young age. He began his education at Ho Bankoe Roman Catholic Boys School in 1961 and then entered Kpedze Secondary School in 1969, successfully completing his GCE “O” Level in 1974.
