Hitoyoshi Station
is a railway station on the Hisatsu Line and Yunomae Line in Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto, Japan, operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) and Kumagawa Railroad. The name of the Yunomae Line station is officially , which was renamed from Hitoyoshi Station on April 1, 2009. Lines Hitoyoshi Station is served by the Hisatsu Line. It is also one terminus of the Kumagawa Railroad Yunomae Line. Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto
is a city in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on February 11, 1942. the city has an estimated population of 30,752 and a population density of 144 per km2. The total area is 210.55 km2. It is famous for boat trips on the river and hot springs. Aoi Aso Shrine, one of the National Treasures of Japan, is located in Hitoyoshi. It is bounded to the north, east, and west by towns of Kuma District, and to the south by Kagoshima Prefecture. Commerce Hitoyoshi's main product is rice shochu (an indigenous spirit distilled from rice), or kuma-shochu, which is the official name of rice shochu produced in Kumamoto's Hitoyoshi and Kuma District. Kumagawa Railroad Yunomae Line
The is a railway line in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, connecting Hitoyoshi-Onsen Station in Hitoyoshi and Yunomae Station in Yunomae. It is the only railway line operated by the third sector . Kawasemi Yamasemi
is a two-car limited express train operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) in Japan. Overview On November 9, 2016, JR Kyushu released a press release detailing its new themed limited express, ''Kawasemi Yamasemi'', scheduled to debut in spring 2017. On December 16, 2016, it was revealed that the new train would begin operation on March 4, 2017. It is currently in normal operation. The ''Kawasemi Yamasemi'' is named for the Kingfisher and Crested Kingfisher, and follows the Kuma River along its route. It features the birds extensively as its motif. Design The train was designed by Eiji Mitooka and Don Design and Associates, and used local resources (such as Japanese cypress and cedar) extensively in its construction. Onboard sales will also consist of local products. SL Hitoyoshi
The SL Hitoyoshi (SL 人吉) is a named steam hauled excursion train operated by the Kyushu Railway Company ( JR Kyushu) on the Kagoshima Main Line and the Hisatsu Line since April 2009. Overview The SL Hitoyoshi runs a return journey between Kumamoto and Hitoyoshi once a day on weekends and national holidays from March to November. The train was inaugurated to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the completion of the Hisatsu Line. A reserved seat must be made prior to boarding. The train stops at Shin-Yatsushiro, Yatsushiro, Sakamoto, Shiroishi, Isshōchi, and Watari. Since the damage of the 2020 Kyushu floods to the Hisatsu Line, the SL Hitoyoshi now temporarily runs between Kumamoto and Tosu Station.
