''Hit Parader'' was an American music magazine that operated between 1942 and 2008. A monthly publication, it focused on rock and pop music in general until the 1970s, when its focus began turning to hard rock and heavy metal. By the early 1980s, ''Hit Parader'' focused exclusively on heavy metal and briefly produced a spinoff television program entitled ''Hit Parader's Heavy Metal Heroes''. Barbara Charone is a UK-based American public relations officer for musical artists and Board Member of Chelsea. Formerly a journalist and music critic, she wrote regularly for the ''Chicago Sun-Times'', the ''NME'' and ''Rolling Stone'' while still a university student in the early 1970s. After relocating to England in 1974, she worked as a staff writer for '' Sounds'' magazine, where she subsequently rose to the position of deputy editor. Kiss (commonly styled as KISS) was an American rock music, rock band formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar), Ace Frehley (lead guitar, vocals) and Peter Criss (drums, vocals).
