The History of Kerala Blasters FC goes from the club's founding in 2014 and its season by season performance up to current time. Kerala Blasters FC, also known simply as The Blasters is based in Kochi, Kerala, India. The Blasters are one of the most widely supported clubs in Asia and have one of the largest social media following among the football clubs from the continent. This article gives a brief history about the club since its inception to the present. Kerala Blasters Football Club (), commonly referred to as The Blasters, is an Indian professional football club based in Kochi, Kerala, that competes in the Indian Super League, the top tier of football in India. The club was established in May 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. The club played their inaugural match on 13 October 2014, losing 1–0 to NorthEast United. The Blasters are the three time runners up of the Indian Super League. They first entered the final in 2014, where they lost 1–0 to  ATK after an injury time goal from them. In 2016, they were again defeated 4–3 by ATK, this time through penalties in the final. Luis Xavier Barreto (born 14 October 1980) is an Indian association football, footballer who used to play as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for East Bengal FC in the I-League. Rocky Michael Chopra (born 23 December 1983) is an English former professional footballer who plays as a striker for West Allotment Celtic. A product of the Newcastle United youth system, he spent six years at the club without managing to secure a regular first team place, instead spending time on loan at Watford, Nottingham Forest, and Barnsley. The 2014 ISL Inaugural International Draft is the second draft in the Indian Super League, the new franchise domestic football league in India. Nirmal Chettri (born 21 October 1990 in Melli, Sikkim) is an Indian footballer who plays mainly as a defender and last played for Southern Samity in the Calcutta Football League.
