Gurwinder Singh
Gurwinder Singh (born 16 April 1986) is an Indian footballer who plays as a defender. Career Gurwinder started his senior career with JCT in 2005 after passing out from their youth academy, where he spent a year. Gurwinder left JCT to join East Bengal in 2010. Gurwinder was loaned out to Kerala Blasters FC for the 2014 Indian Super League and was a regular for the Kerala-based team, making 11 appearances including the final match of the competition. Gurwinder is currently represented by UK based Football Agency - Inventive Sports. He was signed by Northeast United FC for 2018-19 season. He was fondly called as 'Gurwinder Paaji' by his teammates. International After a great season with East Bengal Singh was called up to the India national football team preparatory camp in June 2011 but didn't make any appearances. 2012 Nehru Cup
The 2012 Nehru Cup was the 15th edition of the Nehru Cup and 3rd Nehru Cup since it was revived in 2007. It was held from 22 August to 2 September. The tournament was hosted in New Delhi, India. A total of 5 teams participated in the tournament through being invited by the All India Football Federation. The final match happened between India and Cameroon and India won the match in penalty shoot out. India won the Nehru Cup after defeating the Cameroon 5–4 on penalties after the match ended 2–2 in extra-time. Format On 15 June 2012 the All India Football Federation announced the format for the 2012 Nehru Cup. The tournament was played in a round-robin style. The Nehru Cup was an international association football tournament organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), named after the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. It was launched in 1982, but was not held from 1998 to 2006. After the trophy was won by Iraq in 1997, it was reinstated only in 2007 before officially being held last in 2012 and was replaced in 2017. IFA Shield
The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association. The IFA is the governing body of football in the state of West Bengal, came into existence in 1893. Named after the association, the IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. It is the third oldest football tournament in India, after Durand Cup and Trades Cup, and the one of the oldest football competitions in the world. The royal houses of Patiala and Cooch Behar, A.A.
