History Of Muntenia
Muntenia (, also known in English as Greater Wallachia) is a historical region of Romania, part of Wallachia (also, sometimes considered Wallachia proper, as ''Muntenia'', ''Țara Românească'', and the seldom used ''Valahia'' are synonyms in Romanian). It is situated between the Danube (south and east), the Carpathian Mountains (the Transylvanian Alps branch) and Moldavia (both north), and the Olt River to the west. The latter river is the border between Muntenia and Oltenia (or ''Lesser Wallachia''). Part of the traditional border between Wallachia/Muntenia and Moldavia was formed by the rivers Milcov and Siret. Geography Muntenia includes București - Ilfov, Sud - Muntenia, and part of the Sud-Est development regions. Islaz
Islaz is a Communes of Romania, commune in southern Romania, located in the southwestern Teleorman County, west of Turnu Măgurele. It is part of the historical province Oltenia, and is composed of two villages, Islaz and Moldoveni. The commune is situated in the southern reaches of the Wallachian Plain, where the Olt (river), Olt River discharges into the Danube, Danube River. Ilfov () is the county that surrounds Bucharest, the capital of Romania. It used to be largely rural, but, after the fall of Communism, many of the county's villages and communes developed into high-income commuter towns, which act like suburbs or satellites of Bucharest.
