The Historic Eight Documents are a set of eight monographs authored by the Indian Maoist revolutionary Charu Majumdar that outline the ideological principles on which the Naxalite militant communist movement in India was based. Majumdar
Majumdar is a family surname. Etymology and history The name literally translates to 'record keeper' or 'archivist', from the Arabic language (/) 'collection' + the Persian suffix (/) 'possessor'. The surname has evolved from this title. The surname is found among both Hindu and Muslim Bengalis and should not be confused with the similar "Mujumdar" or "Muzumdar", found among Marathis, and to some extent among the peoples of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. The Bengali Mirashdars living in the former Kachari Kingdom were given titles by the Kachari Raja, which in modern-day acts as a surname for them. Maoism
Maoism, officially called Mao Zedong Thought by the Chinese Communist Party, is a variety of Marxism–Leninism that Mao Zedong developed to realise a socialist revolution in the agricultural, pre-industrial society of the Republic of China and later the People's Republic of China. The philosophical difference between Maoism and traditional Marxism–Leninism is that the peasantry is the revolutionary vanguard in pre-industrial societies rather than the proletariat. This updating and adaptation of Marxism–Leninism to Chinese conditions in which revolutionary praxis is primary and ideological orthodoxy is secondary represents urban Marxism–Leninism adapted to pre-industrial China. Parliamentary Cretinism
Parliamentary cretinism (german: parlamentarische Kretinismus) is a pejorative for the belief that a socialist society can be achieved by peaceful, parliamentary means. It is perpetuated by parliamentarians through their rhetoric that ignore real-word situations (e.g. class struggle). The term, which was cited as a malady, is said to confine adherents to an imaginary world, keeping them from the knowledge and realities of the external world. Naxalbari Uprising
Naxalbari uprising was an armed peasant revolt in 1967 in the Naxalbari block of Siliguri subdivision in Darjeeling district, West Bengal, India. It was mainly led by tribals and the radical communists leaders of Bengal and further developed into the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) in 1969. The armed struggle became an inspiration to the naxalite movement which rapidly spread from West Bengal to other states of India creating division within in to the CPI(M) Party. Origins The uprising occurred during the height Sino-Soviet split, which was causing turmoil within the communist organisations in India and the rest of the world. People's War
People's war (Chinese: 人民战争), also called protracted people's war, is a Maoist military strategy. First developed by the Chinese communist revolutionary leader Mao Zedong (1893–1976), the basic concept behind people's war is to maintain the support of the population and draw the enemy deep into the countryside (stretching their supply lines) where the population will bleed them dry through a mix of mobile warfare and guerrilla warfare. It was used by the Chinese communists against the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II, and by the Chinese Soviet Republic in the Chinese Civil War. The Constitution of India (IAST: ) is the supreme law of India.
